Did anyone catch the premiere of the new video for Cant Hardly Wait today? They hyped it up online but it was just the footage from the Ledge video added to CHW. 🤣 What's funny is that Rhino removed my comments from the livestream....

On “Buck Hill,” the last time the band yells out “buck hill,” who holds the note out like a wailing banshee? Doesn’t sound like Paul to me... Supposedly its Chris..

Any love for 'The Last'? Seems like the kind of song that has to be lived to be written. Love it! It hurts at any speed. That's definitely my favorite song on ASD.

I once saw a Jimi Hendrix bio pic where I guess his estate wasn't on board. So the only Hendrix music used was covers like Hey Joe, Wild Thing, Like a Rolling Stone...etc. At that point why even make the movie??

These rock bios almost always turn out horribly. Has anyone ever seen the CBGBs movie? The Germs movie? The Runaways movie? Horrible. All of them. I'd rather see a really good documentary about the band. Where everyone participates and the band's music and old footage is used, unlike Color Me Obsessed. About 10 years ago I was at a book signing for Mickey Leigh's book about his bro Joey Ramone. He mentioned that someone optioned the movie rights for his book. People were throwing out names about who could play Joey and someone said "Adrian Brody". I'm sooo glad this movie never got made.....🤣

It may well be about Juliana Hatfield. In her memoir, When I Grow Up, there’s a story about being invited to tour with Paul in 1994. They were supposed to meet for the first time in Denver. Paul threw out his back and canceled the tour before she was due to arrive. When I read it, Love Untold immediately came to mind. yeah, I had tickets to see Paul with the Juliana Hatfield 3 opening up in Nov 1993. Paul ended up cancelling a few days before the show. I ended up seeing Slim play that weekend at the Club Lingerie in Hollywood. Slim was cracking jokes about Paul's back troubles....lol

56 LP Junior from the I'll Be You video. Killed 4/6/89. Donated by Paul in 1991 to charity. Probably used on DTAS and maybe ASD and maybe Tim and PTMM. I DON'T KNOW This would also be the guitar from that International Rock Awards thing....👍

Frankly I bought the box set mostly for the live show. DTAS was always my least favorite Mats record. But wow, I'm impressed. I think Redux just moved passed ASD for me.....The one area where I disagree with every one else though is the track order. I think I prefer the 1989 track order. I like the way the original ended with Darling One. It was nice to see Ought to Get Love make an appearance, I always thought that was an ASD outtake....

I know Bob was a big Capt. Sensible fan. You can find various photos of Bob online wearing Damned t-shirts. I think the Mats opened for the Damned was in the early 80s...

I remember when Appetite first came out in 87 the LA Times gave it a mediocre review. Then like a year later after it started selling like hotcakes Robert Hilburn re-reviewed it, and he gushed all over it...

I never liked Asking Me Lies. I remember reading an interview with Paul about a yr or 2 after it came out, where he said he and Slim spent weeks on that song because they thought it was gonna be a big hit. He said they felt dumb when became apparent it wasnt...

Another interesting about the Bangles is that in addition to playing with all the so called Paisley Underground bands, they started out playing with punk bands like Red Cross, Social Distortion, Black Flag, Descendents, etc...

A few months back i scored an original pressing of the first Bangles ep for like 6 bucks.
About a year and a half ago i saw them at the Whiskey, mostly because my girlfriend wanted to see them. I ended up having a really good time. Mike Mills and Fred Armisen even made guest appearances. Mills sang back up on September Gurls.
I once read an article where Alex Chilton said he was able to buy a car with the royalties he received from their cover of September Gurls..
