there is something willfully retarded about these lists. i don't even need to look at this particular one.

Once I was talking to buddy of mine about me getting back together with one of my ex-girlfriends and he advised me that when a carton of milk is left out and goes bad, you can't put it back in the fridge and expect it to get good again... I think your buddy borrowed that from Lennon. Didn't he once say that you can't reheat souffle` (when asked about the beatles reunion?) either way, i think this sums it up for me.

i really like how elvis costello has dealt with reunification with 2/3 of the attractions. he won't call the band "the attractions" still. it's "the imposters". there is bad blood between ec & bruce thomas (is that his name?); the attractions' bass player. still, even though he has pete, steve, and himself, but still won't tour or record under the name "the attractions".
if paul & the remaining 'mats did anything, they should call themselves the impediments & it should be paul, tommy, and chris only. sorry slim.

this might sound stupid, but i have heard the argument made that aerosmith are the american stones.
and it makes sense to a degree.
the mats were the stones, but without all the shit albums after tattoo you. the mats were the stones from about the exile/sticky fingers time frame.

Ohhh too many to list all, but here's one: I've heard certain guitar sounds being described as "crying" but the repeated riff at the end of "What a Day for a night"... that's the epitomy of a crying guitar. The subtle overtones, that sound. Gets me every time. nicely put.

suicaine has some of my favorite paul songs, and some of my least favorite ones.
not unlike most any other paul album....

anyone heard the re-recorded "float away"? the original was terribley overproduced and basically destroyed their careers, still i like them a lot and i'm curious how the new version sounds. anyone? i have that, and it's not so much rerecorded, as it is the demo versions of the album. either way, i like it a lot. very demo-y, though. tinny drums, etc. still better than the overmade actual album.

i've heard the "two songs too long", but i hope he isn't referring to the last two. if i had to chop two off, it would be:
mannequin shop (although i think this song is funny) someone i once knew (which i think borders on horrid)
the rest of the album is ace.

I just wish they'd included "P.O. Box" and "Make This Your Home" on the final album! true 'DAT!

i will personally vouch for christy's collection of unheard adams music.
the guy needs someone to tell him what to officially release; because much of the time he makes the wrong choices.
