WXPN 88.5 in philadelphia just finished their top 885 albums of all time. the replacements were on there a few times. but paul's solo work was not on there once. i am very disappointed about this. 'stereo' would have been my choice for number one. anyone else follow this on the radio? i also checked out their previous list of the top 885 songs and paul wasn't on there either. i don't get it. here's their site: www.wxpn.org

I don't think I have ever seen a Paul Westerberg solo album in any of these critic's 'all-time' lists. I rarely even see his name on the end of year 'bests' that come out around the holidays. CF

i realize paul isn't as big as the replacements were. but compared to a lot of the bands they chose, paul should have been on there. they could have put him in the 800's at least. here's a more direct link to the list: www.xpn.org/885ATGA.php

they played 3 songs from every album and then when they got to the last 25 they played the whole albums. they started this on sept. 27th and they just finished on oct. 17th.

That list is shite!
the pixies made it...... PW needs to take his best songs, re-record with some better sound quality/vocals/energy, throw in tommy.... and pawn it as a "Replacments" album just for the sake of getting onto some more peoples radar...
Or I could just be selfish and suggest he keep doing what he's doing and remain obscure to the ignorant masses...

there is something willfully retarded about these lists. i don't even need to look at this particular one.

I rarely even see his name on the end of year 'bests' that come out around the holidays. CF Stereo/Mono made several year end best-ofs.

I rarely even see his name on the end of year 'bests' that come out around the holidays. CF Stereo/Mono made several year end best-ofs. Yes, I saw a few of those...not in my hometown, however. And Folker made Lucinda William's 'best-of' if you check out her website... But, in general, the big, national publications that put out these lists have been ignoring Paul since around the time he moved to Vagrant. CF
