Maybe we should get him more guitars and more hotel rooms. i'm finding myself agreeing with the little punk here.

i don't think is is really a girl thing... i well up a lot when i watch certain movies, listen to certain songs. the song itself, mmdta, makes me misty. the visuals fit the song perfectly.
i don't wail like a baby, but i definitely get teary. other songs/movies that make cry (no matter how often i hear/view them):
do you realize? - flaming lips hurricane - dylan lost in translation
i'm a big baby. you can say it. i'd a little drunk, and i'll admit it.

Great show last night. Had a really good view of the stage from the balcony. He started out with the first 3 songs from Copper Blue, and really seemed to get into it when he played Underneath Days, bouncing around on the stage and throwing his head back and forth. He really did a nice job with the Body of Song songs- went without the vocoder, and I thought the songs were stronger without it. Was it just me, or did it seem like the biggest reaction from the crowd came when he played the Husker songs? that's probably right, and to be expected, but down on the floor people perked right up for the sugar stuff. especially farty mcstinkybutt in front of me.

great show last night. great seeing everyone, too. great corned beef sandwich at o'donovans across the street.
greeeeeaaaaat.
seriously, though, bob & brendan rocked my ass. bob didn't say much, but gestured & smiled a lot. you know what they say about a picture being worth...
i especially liked his gesturing during the "mississippi river" & "new orleans" parts of hoover dam. hand on heart, etc. it was nice.
makes no sense at all rocked all sorts of ways.
this quote on the tour from bob's blog is great:
"Atlanta on Friday was great, the crowd was really giving us a lot of energy and encouragement. Very simple formula, folks: you give us love, we give you rock. "
indeed.

A friend of mine that likes Husker Du saw Bob Mould at the Taste, but didn't know he was from Husker Du. Once when I brought up the name Bob Mould he said, "Ugh! I saw him at the Taste of Minnesota and he sucked!" and went on to call him a "horrible guitar player". i don't like saying things like this, but i'm afraid your friend is a bit of an idiot.

i've said hi to him on an occasion or two, and he was perfectly pleasant to me. i didn't stand around asking him questions or gushing, so that might have something to do with it, but it was clear i was a fan by the fact that on one occasion i was wearing a husker du tee shirt
(and no, i wasn't seeing him in concert when i was wearing the tee shirt. to paraphrase jeremy pivens from "pcu", i wasn't that guy.)

you know what? i'm glad people are bringing up songs this thread reminds them of... since this thread appeared, i kept hearing husker du's "what do i want" in my head whenever i see it.
now, this is good because i love husker du, but it is bad because i sort of hate that song.

Ok. I don't know why i thought of this but how about a 7" series of covers with themes..... like Vol. 1 would be...... If I we're a carpenter b/w If i had a hammer Vol. 2 Could be Borstal Boys b/w borstal breakout just a thought that would be pretty much awesome.

Every stinking time I see this thread title I sing "I want rock'n'roll" a la a certain band from Sheffield.... a certain band with a two armed drummer, i 'spect.

you know what would be the cat's ass? an album full of guitar like "i want my money back" with the lyrics from "stereo".
yeah, that's about exactly what i want.

this has been covered a number of times, but i think the popular consensus was to make another basement album with his only friends.
they can play slow, fast, whatever they want as far as i am concerned.
