I had pre-ordered on Amazon. So I drove to local record store to see if I could buy a CD copy for a friend and score some swag. They only had albums :-(
Would've been cool if they surviving members could've autographed a bunch of CDs randomly.....imagine how cool that would've been getting one of those!

Update on the Jim Dickinson memoir I mentioned above: Interesting book but nothing about The Replacements. I don't think he finished the book. It ends around 1972 (just before the Big Star work he did). Book = Recommended (but no Replacements stuff) I have that book on my Wishlist.....kinda bummed it ends around 1972 though!

Looks like you had fun. I love seeing shows in a small venue....it's even better when its one of The Replacements! It's great that you are introducing the younger generation to good music!

I went last year and did a combo of the link above and these 2: blog.thecurrent.org/2014/09/replacements-landmarks-in-minneapolis-check-out-this-incredible-map/www.thecurrent.org/feature/2013/08/21/the-replacements-landmarksI missed a few spots but was back in town this past week and got a pic at the Hum's Liquors/GB beer sign above (rumored to be disappearing in a few weeks!). When I was there last year, I went to the "Let It Be" house and a girl walked outside with a French bulldog....so it had 2 things I love FBD's and the 'Mats.....I couldn't muster up enough courage to talk to her or maybe I could've been given a tour inside or even a pic on the roof! There are a cool few bars that have Replacements themed cocktails. DuNord is one, ask for the "Bob Stinson" although its new name is the "Wealthy Apple" (they felt guilty) and Icehouse did have a "Playing Make-Up Wearing Guitar" drink at one point. It's a fun little city....post your pics when you get back!

After reading the book, and hearing of his mental state at times, it makes me wonder about the injury and if it was a cry for help of some sort. Who cleans candles out anyways? Thoughts?

That's awesome. I was just visiting there last Monday and stopped by. There was a "kid" working there at the front desk, long black hair with tattoos....he ended up giving us a quick tour. Do you know him? I got pictures of the Neve console and saw the room the 'Mats recorded in! I asked if Jody Stephens was there from Big Star (he was!) but sadly he was on a closed door conf. call and couldn't come out. I didn't want to hang around and bug him so me and my brother left. Worth a visit if you are in town! I might've know the guy you are talking about. Kind of a long but wonderful story on how our little band from Detroit got to record there, I will share sometime. It actually revolves around my son who lives and works in Memphis. Unfortunately, Jody Stephens wasn't there Friday night... kind of a bummer. I would've loved to have met him and had his input and advice. His drum set was in Studio C where we were recording. My amp was actually recorded in the same booth as his kit.... It was tempting to get them out and beat on them....lol. BUT we didn't. Memphis is so musically rich....love that city! His name was Jared.....found him on Instagram.

Thanks Matsrule! I kept thinking to myself....Wish all serious Mats fans could check this place out. I do admit I was selfish and played a bit of Skyway in between takes That's awesome.
