I'll be heading to Minneapolis next week and hope to take in some Mats sites.
I'll Uber down to 2215 Bryant, to the CC Club, Bob's bench, First Avenue/7th Street.
Anything else recommended?

Done the trip a few times. Treehouse Records (original Oarfolkjokepus, where Paul passed off the original demo to Jesperson) is directly across from CC Club. All not too far from the Grain Belt wall on the side of a liquor store. Also I recommend kissing somebody on the bus, but please seek permission first.

Go to HiFi hair and records. It's like a museum and they have cool tee shirts, like Twin Tone. Jon is a big Mats fan. Also the Electric Fetus is a fun place to checkout.

And don't forget to go to First Ave. if you don't want to go to a show check out the Depot attached to 1st Ave. They have some good pictures on the walls and they used to play footage from concerts on video screens. You gotta take a picture of the stars on the walls.

I went last year and did a combo of the link above and these 2: blog.thecurrent.org/2014/09/replacements-landmarks-in-minneapolis-check-out-this-incredible-map/www.thecurrent.org/feature/2013/08/21/the-replacements-landmarksI missed a few spots but was back in town this past week and got a pic at the Hum's Liquors/GB beer sign above (rumored to be disappearing in a few weeks!). When I was there last year, I went to the "Let It Be" house and a girl walked outside with a French bulldog....so it had 2 things I love FBD's and the 'Mats.....I couldn't muster up enough courage to talk to her or maybe I could've been given a tour inside or even a pic on the roof! There are a cool few bars that have Replacements themed cocktails. DuNord is one, ask for the "Bob Stinson" although its new name is the "Wealthy Apple" (they felt guilty) and Icehouse did have a "Playing Make-Up Wearing Guitar" drink at one point. It's a fun little city....post your pics when you get back!

Minneapolis report.
First, an odd event:
We happened to walk through Lyndale and then Garfield, and I got interested because of "Run It" of course. Then a block or two away a car ran a red light and got broadsided. (No one hurt.) That's Mats cosmic energy.
Made it down to the CC Club, where my wife and I had beers. We got into a conversation with a regular, in her 50s. As she learned what we were there for, she started telling stories--mostly Dave Pirner ones, whom she knew. She seemed more enthusiastic about Soul Asylum and Husker Du than the Replacements, but was very friendly and somewhat wasted at 4 pm.
Having a good time in town--went for lunch to Murray's Steakhouse which was great, then this old German place called the Black Forest Inn for hassenpfeffer which was also great.

Herro I went to Minneapolis in January and am looking forward to returning (hopefully in the Summer when it's warm). These suggestions and articles will be helpful as I would absolutely adore to visit some Mats sites. xoxo

I have yet to make it out to the holy land and check out all the places the Mats once roamed....but my nephew is going to school in Minnesota, so if he graduates (ha ha), I'll get a chance to head out there.

Have some great photos of wife and me on Bob's bench, me at the Grainbelt "mural" and 7th Street entry, but they're too big.
