This isn't that random but something I stumbled across on YouTube. In 1989, a fan got pulled onstage to play with the band: Cool! She nailed it. Re: the last time she saw Slim however—“Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.” (See text near the end.) I saw them in NYC in March but these shows were under 30 minutes from my house....I can't recall I didn't go to see them when they were so close! There's good interview with them at a local bar for MTV here (I'm sure everyone's seen!): www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eJbOy6u0NA

As for the doc, I got lucky and someone that downloaded it before it got pulled offered it to me to be added to my drive, where it now is! You gotta upload that somewhere!

Yeah, the tracking becomes useless with that hand-off I guess. Mine never even changed to "on the way." The part that's more ridiculous is that months ago they publicly announced through multiple audiophile youtubers that they were improving their packaging in response to all the complaints surrounding their first two "Rhino Hi-Fi" premium releases, only to ship these out rattling around in oversized boxes with no packing material (or a single square of brown paper at best). After a few more listens, I'd say this is easily my favorite of the reissues so far. The only thing missing for me is the original mix of Nowhere Is My Home. I still have my Boink! record, but a remastered cut of the original mix is kind of a weird omission, especially when the new mix is so different. End of venting, mine has finally arrived. The packing was of decent amount although small ding on single.....oh well.....so excited to crank it once the workday ends!

My order shipped last week....delivery was set for Sunday.....then updated to Saturday (yeah!), then back to Sunday by 7pm. Sunday 7pm came and went and now delivery shows at tomorrow 7pm. ^^^^^^^^^ Your package shipped last week, but delayed a number of times in route...sounds more like a UPS issue than a Rhino one, YMMV. Rhino should allow different shipping options.....either quicker delivery (I'll Buy: 'Mats pun!) or other vendors?.......they decided to use UPS which then hands off to USPS.....wow, look at that tracking detail! 09/25/2023 2:46 P.M. Coffee mug & t-shirt arrived today, odd because I actually got a tracking number Friday for the "extras". But strangely enough, I also received a tracking number early this morning for the records & CD's that were delivered Thursday. Makes no sense. I also received an email from Rhino asking about their customer service, I told them the rep that replied to my inquiry was prompt, but the late orders are getting old, every product I've ever ordered from Rhino comes late with a new excuse. Rhino is horrible. They know they have the people who want the "extras"......but they are seriously making me reconsider using another provider next time. They should ship all the preorders first, with enough time to have them arrive the day of release. It's not that difficult to figure out. Take all who ordered, make a list, then plan out to ship 10-14 days in advance....My order shipped last week....delivery was set for Sunday.....then updated to Saturday (yeah!), then back to Sunday by 7pm. Sunday 7pm came and went and now delivery shows at tomorrow 7pm. Imagine running another business like this....you'd be out of business within a year. I'd pay extra to have the option of shipping 2 day FedEx or something. Also, what's the point of tracking if it simply just says "out for delivery"....

Mine is stuck on "label created" and apparently hasn't left the Rhino warehouse yet. It might be on the way, my experience with Rhino on the various Mats box sets has been very poor shipping communication and shipping times. Mine never had any tracking info, didn't even show shipped, surprised the hell out of me when it just appeared on my porch last night. Hoping to be surprised today but not expecting it.....tracking merely shows "on the way"....."out for delivery" is still blank and thats from a few days ago. Nervous for the weekend as its supposed to pour here and watch it get dumped on front door step during downpour.....

Cool article, thanks. I would pay five dollars to see Westerberg's face when he reads the part about him having "matinee-idol looks." It is a very good and interesting article but attributing what must be the misheard lyric “Real union flight attendant” to maybe a comment on anti-unionism of the Reagan era is a bit of a stretch 😂. It is “reunion flight attendant” as in at the high school reunion, right? That's the way I always heard it too....“reunion"

^^^^^^^^^^^ Not too familiar with these Guardians of the Galaxy movies, I did see the first one with my young at the time son in the theater, he loved them. But it seems the director, James Gunn, is a huge fan of The Mats. The guy would be at home here in this forum. link
"I Will Dare You" is par for the course!

It’s interesting. I just googled the I Don’t Cares. There are coffee mugs, tote bags, tank tops, even a tapestry! And an eBay CD for almost $100. Pretty sure Paul and Juliana aren’t making any skin from those. "Most of the rock n roll t-shirts and swag one sees on the internet are unauthorized merchandise. Doesn't take much to bootleg shirts using images grabbed from the web and printing 'em up. Even The Gap got into hot water years ago for selling bootleg t-shirts. From what I understand, it is extremely hard to control because it is so rampant. And it takes money and time for an artist to get a court order to cease sales." Speaking of t-shirts.......saw this one recently: http://instagr.am/p/CfMQh5LLnsh

On Saturday Juliana Hatfield did a live stream where she played her best-known album "Become What You Are" front to back. She actually played it twice after she wasn't thrilled with the first run-through, plus a couple other songs. Afterwards she took questions, mostly about what her next covers record should be, the third after Olivia Newton-John and The Police. The Replacements was brought up among many others, but she said she wouldn't do it because the music is such a reflection of the actual people who made it and Westerberg's voice was such a key part of it. She was very adoring, just more like - no way, it's sacred. REM seems to be in strong contention, but it sounds like The Carpenters is in the race. I'm hoping for the latter. liveontomorrow.co.uk/news/2020/12/22/video-juliana-hatfield-become-what-you-are-live-at-q-division-december-19-2020
