I think Slim has played a Custom Gold Top Gibson Les Paul for some time. The one from when they played Talent Show on TV.He sounds great on it.

Is there a timeline of what guitars, amps, effects, speakers, pick ups, tubes, etc.that PW has used thru the years? Bob & Slim as well? Does anyone have any info? This may have been covered before but my searches haven't turned up anything.
Also are there any musicians on this board who feel their set up captures the Mats/PW tone?
If you were going to take the stage as a Mats tribute band what would your set up be?

Maybe you just end up with a cover like this when you "name" your album TIM. Stupid name, bad cover, poor production and it's my favorite record ever.EVER!

Could the lyric be...
Waiting for a girl to tell you that she's game?

androgynous, night club jitters, self defence...songs like these seem to come from out of nowhere.Angels Walk seems like the "least there" of any Westerberg song.I don't think he's ever been that vague lyrically, but it might have opened the door to something like Bookmark.Who knows?

Having unusual but similar words like albacore and albatross would seem like the writer was leafing thru a dictionary to find words and construct lines around them. That might be why the lyric is so strange. You learn to hide those kind of things when you write something you're going to release but this song seems to be just an amusing exercise in word play.Maybe Paul would call it "cute".I think Stephen Malkmus and Westerberg write lyrics the same way in that they hit the chord and sound out the song phonetically off the top of their head.Westerberg just seems to go more from the gut where Malkmus is more self concious stream of conciousness.God Pavement really came around at the perfect time for me as I was bummed when the Mats broke up.

The "bitch/godess albatross" makes sense in that a burdon of being a queen would be being percieved as one or the other.I think that is the line(though it is really out of left field).Just for flow and content I wish it was "All hail THE queen. The bitch got herself a job."By saying "All hail queen" it seems to be a reference to the band Queen, which is cool.Oh,and I'm just waiting for the bank to open this morning.

I hear "success and applause" rather than "sad santa claus". Also hear "bitch got herself a trough" instead of "job" but not too sure if I'm hearing it right.

To me this release serves as a missing link that shines a light on or fills in spaces in his creative process...for me.
It's entertaining to me and I'm thankful to him for putting it out.

I am looking for this if anyone can help. Thanks.
Also is there a Son of It's Mr. Soundtrack out there? Are there enough stray songs to fill a disk?
