I think, for me, the thing that changes the "Waiting For Somebody" comparison is a small element/chord change in the main riff. The little part at :05 seconds to :07 seconds in. I'm not saying the verses and main riff aren't very similar to "Waiting", but I do think "Message" stands up as it's own song, especially considering the chorus and bridge aren't at all like "Waiting".

I think if you slow it down a little it actually sounds a little like "A Few Minutes of Silence." |

its westerberg,alot of the songs are similar. Goes for most great songwriters.

Well, it IS a rewrite of "A Few Minutes of Silence". However, it's an improvement on the original and therefore I don't mind.

Has it been mentioned that the part of the bridge that goes "She sent a message to the boys" is melodically very similar to "I shot an actor in the street"? I don't know if it's the same key or not, but it sounds the same to me. Which I think is a good thing.

The more I listen, the more the lead vocal sounds like Chris Mars. Does anybody else hear that? Or is it just me thinking that I thought I knew who you thought you were, but I was confused?

Wow, I missed a day of work, had a bunch of dental work done yesterday and the idiot dentist gave me so much medicine I didn't wake up until today and it turns out he didn't even get all of done right. Yet, thanks to this MP3, my weekend rawks!

I can't forget her and her voice") as the chorus, not a bridge. and yes, it's in a different key than Actor. m |
