Once again John wore my Songs for Slim band for months on their tour... He was so cool when I gave it to him

No updates from Atlanta? Seems to be pouring rain and Billie Joe has once again joined the band onstage - at least Paul is standing this time!

My 19 year old daughter said she was front row at the barricades surrounded "by old people like you Daddy." (I'm only 45) She said it was incredible, Billie Joe looks like a homeless man, and shocker, Paul forgot a lot of lyrics.

The rain was very heavy starting about 7:50. They delayed the set until 8:15, and the rain tapered off.
Set started with Takin a Ride and Love Ya Till Friday, then Billie Joe came out for I'm in Trouble and stayed the rest of the set. Paul was standing and playing the whole time too.
The remainder of the set consisted of the following, not in this order:
Customer Color Me Impressed I Will Dare Androgynous Kiss Me on the Bus Swinging Party Left of the Dial Bastards Nowhere is My Home IOU Alex Chilton I Don't Know (w/ Buck Hill) Can't Hardly wait Achin' To Be I'll Be You Merry Go Round

I am lovin' the choice of their setlists. I never thought they would ever play so many from the early days and throwing in odd gems like Nowhere is my Home is way cool.

Hot damn! What a night! My wife and I made our way to within 50 feet of the stage about 7:00 (an hour before the Mats were scheduled), where people our age (50ish) had staked out the best view (old people rock!). As thenewoldme said, the rain started hard and heavy about 7:50. No one moved. People pulled out ponchos, jackets, and one big bald guy in front of me placed his red Solo cup on his head. When the Mats took the stage, Paul ran out and threw a yellow poncho to some lucky crowd member. Every song was outstanding. The band sounded great, Tommy and Paul were smiling and laughing throughout, taking playful jabs at each other. During Kiss Me on the Bus, Paul walked over to Tommy's mic, as if to sing along together, and planted a deep kiss on Tommy's lips! Nice! Tommy said something when the song was over, and laughed, but I didn't catch what he said. Billie Joe played on nearly every song, and occasionally sang back up, but seemed content to play guitar alongside his idols. He and Paul sat down together on the drum riser for Androgynous, while the rest of the band watched. The crowd was large and really into it, singing along to every song, and occasionally helping out when Paul forgot a line. Paul and Tommy really seemed into it, and to be having a good time. Paul broke two guitar strings on one of the last songs (Bastards, maybe?), but played through, with Billie Joe (fast strummer!)Tommy, and Minehan bringing it home. My ears are still ringing, and I am feeling mighty satisfied. Mats forever!

I'm not a Green Day guy, but I'll give major props to Billie Joe. He was a cool addition. Way different crowd than Denver Riot Fest. A little more pushing and drunker. The whole band seemed to be having a blast. Add Ramones "Judy is a Punk" to setlist. Super short and fast and outstanding.
