Excellent! Its only a three hour drive from me. If Bonnaroo becomes reality, that is just icing on the cake.
On an unrelated note, I really hope they mix up the setlists a bit for these 2014 dates.

Excellent! We'll pick you up (cash or money order only, please). Just need 19 more. Also, to clarify, the choice of snack does NOT include cake.
(No outside food)

I am really freaking out over here that someone is complaining about the setlist already! They have played 3 shows in 20 some years and you want a new setlist! I would be happy and grateful to watch them play the phonebook after all of these years...

I'm really freaking out that only one ticket is sold for the party bus.

X has been touring for years with no new material to promote, and it hasn't made for any less of a kick-ass live show. Completely agree - one of the greatest live bands ever

You need better snack and drink choices. So are you in if I include a gluten free option?

Wow! Only a four-hour drive for me--instead of the $$ plane tickets to Chicago at RiotFest. Bringing the fam, as it looks like family-friendly venue. (RiotFest touted themselves as being that but it really wasn't, except kids are just young enough to remain more or less oblivious.)
Although closer, never have made Bonnaroo in 12 years I've been here. Too freaking hot in July in Tennessee, not to mention lightning storms. They've had some amazing acts over the years, but I always wished they'd move it to a cooler time of year.
I've been reading up on Atlanta Station and a little perplexed. It appears to be one of those "lifestyle centers" that started popping up in the 90s. Can anyone clue me in on what it's like?

lofi - yep, Atlantic Station has all the hallmarks of the "lifestyle center". IKEA, high-end housing, etc. Fortunately, it is only six blocks-or-so from a MARTA rail station (Arts Center), so an out-of-towner could fly in and operate without a car (very distinct from the Denver-to-Byers experience).

I thought it was a pipe dream to think the Mats might be the 2nd billed act on Saturday at Boston Calling...but now I'm not so sure!! bostoncalling.com/lineupWhile I love this theory, it looks like GnR has a bunch of dates booked this spring - including a Las Vegas stand over the course of that weekend.

Tommy tweeted recently that he needed a job. Is he still in GnR? Who knows? Everything is so shrouded in mystery with these guys...

Any locals here? Also, did anyone go to Shaky Knees last time? And can you share some intelligence? VIP package worth it? Thanks!

all this is well and good for those who missed the riot fest shows the first time around. there are far too many unanswered questions still. have the 'mats become a "festival band." if so, that's fine. but to tour without supporting new material is somewhat cheezy. i don't begrudge them cashing in, but what's the point of "touring" if it means shuffling a playlist and putting "I.O.U." third as opposed to being the encore, and closing with "Valentine's Day," eh? it's time to sh#t or get off the pot and deliver something new. otherwise, i see no reason to spend good money to see them perform in some california wasteland or travel to atlanta to sit second or third on some bill that leaves me wanting more than a 40-minute show because the "main act" is itching to get on. have at it, all those folks who were unable to get to the first three last year. i'd most certainly go. but i've seen the 'mats. i've seen isbell. i have no real need to see alabama shakes or the gaslight anthem. and even if i did, i'd prefer to see them in a club as opposed to the mucky potential of a field. i see that this has become the lollapalozza trend, but it don't mean i've got to buy in. i have no regrets on that front. i was there. i saw them and cheered. i need a little more at this point, like seeing the drive-by truckers tour their next actual album, due to be released in march. Rack Wiser's.

Still on the fence for this show...and hell, it'll give me a chance to hang with some other fans and actually feel like I'm a part of something for once in my life.
