REALLY disappointed ... Between the non-refundable portion of the Ticketmaster "order processing fee" and Continental's "service charge" to re-bank my frequent flyer miles, it'll cost me twice as much as the original ticket for a show I won't get to see. Great ... I say this under the assumption that Paul and the band are okay, given that the DC show starts in less than 2 hours and hasn't been cancelled.

Where's my post? Was I censored?
I am officially the most angry MWTer. Tuesday's show was to be the SECOND time that in two and one-half months that my wife and I escaped the throes of new parenthood. Plus, I had an "It's a Boy" Romeo y Julieta to give Paul. In the words of Ben Folds, "You betta watch out because I'm goina' say F*uck!!!"
As it were with babysitting lined up on Tuesday, we're going to go to a nice dinner, and on Wednesday I'm going with a friend to see the Shins at the same venue Paul SHOULD be playing on Tuesday.
And on Monday, I might have to kick Lisa Marie Presley's ass. Can't she just live off of her hundreds of millions of dollars without pretending to be a singer?
"F*uck!!!!!!"

Was scared for a moment when I read "Southern"...but I didn't think there was any way he would cancel a Friday night show in Atlanta.
I know the cover's $21, but where shall I park?...

Where's my post? Was I censored? Settle down on the "censorsed" nonsense. As I said in the first post here, I wanted to have just one thread on this topic and there were three differerent ones already so I started a new one to keep things organized and not have 3 conversations on the same topic going on at once.

[/qu I'll "simma down now" (in the voice of Cheri O'teri). I'm sure she's a friend of Lisa Marie Presley.

Forgive my geographic ignorance but can people somewhat easily go to Asheville instead? Is that a driveable thing for a show?

Given that I was flying from Houston just to see the show, I'm going to have to say "no" on this one.
According to Google Maps, it's just under 300 miles from Nashville to Asheville (I can rhyme anytime), so it's probably not too convenient for locals, either.

Is that a driveable thing for a show? You're talking AT LEAST five hours. Not doable with a two and half month old around. Asheville has developed this hippie-cool aesthetic. Screw Asheville.

Honestly, Atlanta's closer, but for my personal situation, the 30 mile drive to Nashville was even a stretch. I was going to get to take my wife to her first Paul show, and she's even listening to "Suicaine Gratifaction" in her computer right now.

Kathy, any word on why yet?
I have a buddy who is at the DC show right now. He's going to try to ask "someone" at the meet and great.
I know I sound a little bitter on this thread. I'm not trying to be a d!ck, but I am just really disappointed about this. This was going to be my third and final time to see Paul and HOF on this tour.

Oh, this is painful. My buddy just called me on his cell from the DC show. At least, I can say that I heard "Someone Take the Wheel" live one more time on this tour.
Thank you, KB, you ROCK!

My wife has been bitching all month: "all they do is advertise Lisa Marie P.". I think this is just Cannery $$$ talking. I can't blame PW Cannery's a hole, think of it that way!

I just found out last night. Very disappoiting This was going to be the finale of my Westerberg Trifecta - Columbia, Louisville and Nashville. Oh well, at least I had those shows. I feel really, really bad for the people that haven't gotten to see him already and were looking forward to this show.

Well, Paul canceled the 2002 Austin in-store just because he felt like it..But, that was just him doing some free shows. This is bigger. He has an entire crew and band to support, so to cancel an isolated show in the middle of a tour would suggest there has to be a real good reason... Poor ticket sales perhaps?

My opinion is not poor ticket sales, but the schedule. When I saw the schedule, I thought it odd that Nashville would be where it was. Norfolk, then a 14-hour drive to Nashville (even though there is a day off) and then 6-hour drive back to Asheville. They are probably tired, and now they have two days off with a 7-8 hour drive from Norfolk. I think that is why they cancelled it.
I also wondered about the Atlanta-Charleston-Orlando shows. If Charleston got cancelled, I wouldn't be surprised in the least.
