Just got back from the Paul Westerberg show at the Cannery in Nashville, and boy, was it . . . oh wait, it was the Shins at the Cannery last night. According to a manager there, Paul cancelled.
If it was poor pre-sale, to compare and contrast, the Shins sold the place out.

Yes, truly funny, especially for the poster artist who is now stuck with 65 other worthless posters. Printmafia (some play on "Muzik Mafia," the illustrious ensemble that gave us Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson?) must be doing posters for all shows at the Cannery because I have the one from last night's Shins show.

What makes them worthless? The poster is still the poster whether or not the show took place and selling them on eBay seems a good way to make money with them.

Sometimes I don't know when my leg is being pulled on this board, but it's not a very good picture of Paul, and they spelled his name wrong to boot.

What about the spelling of the last name? Unless its supposed to be a joke that I'm not finding funny.

I, personally, do not buy posters for shows that I did not attend. And, I am a poster fiend; I found myself in a fairly long line of 16 year old Shins fans, who I can only imagine found the Shins through "Garden State," last night. So, if other people have my same philopsophy (which admittedly may be completely foreign), Printmafia is stuck with a bunch of pre-printed posters because the show didn't take place. Who wants to memorialize a moment that didn't occur?

Who wants to memorialize a moment that didn't occur? Alot of people buy posters for concerts they didn't go to, some people buy them based on the artwork, not the being at the show part. Might not be your thing, but there's an audience for it.

I wonder who booked this tour? I thought it was odd that he had to drive through the entire state of ohio no less than three times. One night in Louisville, then Columbus/cleveland, then back down to Cinci, then right back up to Detroit. Talk about spinning your wheels. new booking agent..... michaelb
