Seeing as you are the guitar player.. Are you in a band? Do you wanna be? Ha! Ours is pretty unpredictable and undedicated.. I've been in a few bands over the years... Right now I'm recording my songs, in my little home studio, all by my lonesome. I'm sorta of itching to get back in a band, so if you kick out El Dorodo, I can take over the bass duties for ya!

Don't worry. We won't tell anybody who you are!

Also I have 16 beers outside (no room in the fridge) and its 29 degrees... Can I drink them all before they freeze? I thought it was warm, where you and Gouda live!

You are 100% correct in IMHO Gtr. Those songs are great. I like Tim, don't get me wrong. As for U2, not that JT was bad, I just started to dislike the bands persona. Yeah, they lost me around that Zooropa period! They finally redeemed themselves, with the last album somewhat (less Bono/Fly stuff, and more heartfelt songs).

Tim may be badly produced (no doubt about that), but you can't deny that:
Here Comes a Regular Bastards of Young Left of the Dial Little Mascara Hold My Life Swingin Party, etc...
all overcome bad production. A good song is all that matters. You could record it on a boom box, and it will still stand out if it's trully great...
Just listen to those old Robert Johnson recordings. The recordings are lo-fi at best, but they're timeless nonetheless.

Ouch! and I thought I was critical. Some observations and thoughts: The Joshua Tree by U2-Well, he has a point. This was the album that made me start to dislike them. I still think it's their best album!

I just came across this web page, with the title "100 Albums You Should Remove From Your Collection Immediately" that takes shots at some great albums... Number 6: The Replacements - Tim (WTF?) here's the link: jaguaro.org/feature/archives/000007.html

I'd say it sounds a bit more Hemaway, than the Mats actually, but what do I know.

Number eleven: Refusing to shorten last name to Dylan, to help reduce the number of syllables in last name, ensures the young uns won't remember his name.
Number twelve: Was tired of being around...what do you call it...uh...people!

I was at a used bookstore on the weekend, and picked up "The Mojo Collection - The Greatest Albums of All Time." The only Replacements album to make the book... Pleased to Meet Me .

I remember watching a DVD, of one of the in-stores (I think it was the Ameoba instore), and Paul asks the audience "Did you see me on CNN earlier?" Then he goes on to imply that it didn't go well.

Paul seems to like changing the perspective of a song in the final verse/chorus/outro, by doing things like switching from third person, to first person perspective...
It gives the songs a nice personal feel, and leaves you wondering if the song is complete fiction, or somewhat autobiographical.

I was given a cell phone, years ago, as a present. About a year and a half ago, I decided to cancel the service because, I never use it, and because I hate the damn things. I have not missed having a cell phone, though there were a few times it could have come in handy, I much prefer not being "in-touch" 24/7.
Here are some cell-phone abuses I've observed over the years:
1) People crossing over 3-lanes of traffic, to get to their off ramp, because they were too distracted talking, to pay attention to the road.
2) watching a "period piece" movie, and having a cell-phone ringing... TURN OF YOUR F*CKIN' PHONES PEOPLE!...if you're that important, and need to be in contact with the world at all times...don't go to the movies!...

For me, it's hard to beat the 1-2-3 punch of:
Left of the Dial Little Mascara Here Comes a Regular
Possibly the best 3 songs to ever close an album.

I remember finding "Friday Night is Killing Me" in the discount bins, and paying a whopping $3.99 for it. Those fools!

If Paul had done the same type of video, he probably would have replaced Courtney Cox, with Bob Stinson (wearing a dress of course)...
The song would definitely not have had "80's sounding synthesizers" on it either.
