It appears that the series of books being put out by Continuum, has a new addition coming soon. For anyone that hasn't seen any of the books in this series, it's basically a collection of books, written by musicians, about their favorite albums. I know one of the books was by Joe Pernice about the Smith's album "Meat is Murder."
Anyways, there's a book about "Let it Be" written by Colin Melroy of the Decemberists coming out sometime this year.
Here's the blurb:
The Decemberists is on tour through the end of the month, at which point the group will take a break to work on outside efforts. Meloy is actually in the process of writing a book for a series being produced by Continuum, a small publishing house. The series, titled 33 1/3, is a collection of short books produced by writers, musicians and other artists all writing about their favorite albums. Meloy’s? Let It Be, the seminal album by the Replacements. “It’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard, and means more to me than any other.”

It's also a good idea to occasionally replace a gramitically correct word with a made up one:
"Maybe you were the one I should've holded on to."

Is this like that Trekies vs. Trekers thing, you hear Star Trek nerds arque about?
Maybe we could go with Westies, or Westers, or Westerbergers, or Bastards of Young, or...let's just say f*ck it, and just Let it Be!

Let me get this straight. The Grandpaboy CD, with 2 songs on it, is going for $138...
Geez, what will the EP with five songs go for?
At the rate of $69 per song, I figure I can sell my version for $345 ;D.

Still not buying what you guys are selling. Gtr, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you don't find "Sadly Beautiful" the least bit pretentious? Depressingly pretentious? Mock depressingly pretentious? I truly find it to be a beautiful, and melancholic song, without being too maudlin. I know where you are coming from though. This album took alot longer to hit me, than Let it Be or Tim. It will never hold the same place in my heart as those records, but the longer I've lived with ASD, the more its treasures have slowly revealed themselves... How's that for pretentious?

"Nobody" is very good, but I seriously cannot think of another song I like off that record. Sadly Beautiful is an under appreciated song off that album.

I always thought that "I'll Be You" or "Achin' to Be" could have been Top 40 hits.
