I'm not sure if this topic has been covered somewhere else or not, but seeing the recent posts on Slim and Chris got me interested in it. I didn't include Perfect's "Seven Days a Week" since it's not officially released yet (even though that would have gotten my vote). I also didn't include Static Taxi since Bob wasn't really the main creative in it, and because I ran out of space.

I remember finding "Friday Night is Killing Me" in the discount bins, and paying a whopping $3.99 for it. Those fools!

I would vote for Perfect, 7 Days a Week. I've never heard any Slim, always liked Tommy's solo stuff better than Chris'.

I'd like to thank the board for introducing me to B&P's "Frday..." grabbed it off EBay, and love it. it's brilliant. maybe brilliant is an overstatement, but it's a fine record.

Agree with you there Keith and speaking of Keith's I remember when "Loose Ends" was played on the radio I thought for sure it was a Keith Richards tune. The album is really catchy and sloppy which I love.

Definitely B&P, "Never Aim to Please" and "Friday Night" are great, great songs. Like others here, a great find in the used/cut-out bins.

"makes me happy" "sometime" Miss self esteem" & a drunken cover of a bad elton John song!
got to give it to "when Squirells play chicken"
plus I saw them on that tour with Superdrag (good) Big Star(very good) & Yo La Tengo (my ears still bleed from time to time when i think about it) I had a drink with Tommy, David Croos & Bill Odenkirk from Mr.SHow . it was a hoot!

perfect, 7 days a week. if that is an illegal entry due to it not really being released, gotta go with bash & pop.
when i saw perfect in milwaukee in the late 90s at the unicorn, they played "crocodile rock" until the barman turned the lights off on them, and then they continued to play it. then the barman turned the lights back on, and the band CONTINUED to play it.
all in all, i think the version was over 20 mins long.

AND, last summer, I saw Superdrag open for Big Star in Nashville... probably one of the best shows I have ever seen, considering that both bands are are in my top 10 all-time list...

el goodo,
you seem like reasonable human being, why is Elizabeth scolding me for bringing up the Gimme's? I have been a member of this board for less then 24 hours & as a "newbie" I'm not quite sure what offense i've commited.
It seems we attend all the same shows, just in different cities.

hmm... elizabeth is a highly complex individual, and has been known to unknowingly step on some feelings around here from time to time...
she does have some redeeming qualities, however, such as a strong command of the "f" word...
I better think about this for awhile, and get back to you...

listen new guy... rule #1. no 'jumping' threads. it's easy, just stick to the subject of the thread and don't mix them up. this is your second offense.

Elizabeth has been pissy ever since she lost all her X-Ray Spex singles when she moved.
She used to be nice to a couple of people, but those days are long gone. Now she is an equal opportunity hater. I will miss her when I get busy at work again in a week or two.
Maybe she will come and visit?
