oh my hell. the first offense was your Me First and the Gimme Gimme reference. I already wrote about all that and so your post is plainly useless. even worse - it's like unnecessary noise. please don't tell me you just jumped in here without reading what's been contributed before your arrival? uh, whoa.

What was the first? Sarge... I mean Elizabeth. gravy it appears that you upset Liz when you unerringly mentioned the Gimme Gimme's... apparently, at some point in the past, she had already name-dropped the aforementioned band, and when you brought them up, she feels as though her indie-cred cool factor was diminished a bit, since someone else knows about them, as well... (damn, she beat me to the punch...)

oh ...I see.... I guess? So this isn't about having fun and trying to chat with people who have similar interests & maybe, just maybe get turned onto a new band/book/whatever?
sorry.. My bad.
Listen sweetheart, i don't have time to view all of your old posts to see if a band name was uttered by "a Senior" member of the board. what is this a John Hughes movie circa 1985!! Am I Gary,Wyatt, or duckie?

Not to take this to porn, but does a nervous breakdown actually affect a penis? Seems to me it just might make it extra perky and unpredictable. I have never had a nervous breakdown, but am fortunate enough to have a penis. I think I could have a breakdown (or any malady for that matter) and it would have absolutely no influence on the behavior of my penis.
matter of fact I think i could smash it between two bricks and it would still be hunky-dorey.
Now, without any painful details, what caused your beau to flip his wig?

I was at the Superdrag/Big Star show but wasn't it summer of 2001? I might be wrong. Superdrag is much better with a second guitar. I thought they sounded a little thin at that show. Another highlight for me was Superdrag with GBV in Knoxville. Bob Pollard came out to sing his part on "Baby Goes to 11." gravy, I caught Perfect on that tour, as well... AND, last summer, I saw Superdrag open for Big Star in Nashville... probably one of the best shows I have ever seen, considering that both bands are are in my top 10 all-time list...

Oh, and I told the story of my wife sucker punching me right in the back of the neck a few months ago, so don't try pulling the "it's personal" crap.

this IS getting too personal, but who cares
he denies this, but i know it's true. i told him i was in love with him. he then proceeded to have a full-on nervous breakdown and had to be hospitalized. he hasn't been the same since and is even afraid to leave his house sometimes.
what do you think, BW?

I think it is always better to make the man say the "Love" word first.
I think if I told someone I love them and they had a breakdown I would be extremely flattered.
Sounds like there are issues that maybe you don't yet know about the guy.
You were not wearing a strap on when you told him this were you?

no, i was NOT wearing a strap on. is that a bad thing? now I agree with you about who drops the L word first. that was the first time I did so, and now i probably won't do it again. i really had no idea - i thought it was the best thing of all to say to someone....now i'm not so sure.
gravy - do not call me sweetheart.

I know about the years running together. Was it just me, or did Alex Chilton have a little too much of the "I'm only doing this for the money" smirk on his face? I really didn't get the same vibe from Paul on the S/M tour. nigel, you are correct on all points... (the years are starting to run together)

A few observations... 1) BigE! Wheel - you are killing me! Twice now I spit out my Yoohoo from laughing. 2) Does Elizabeth=Gravy? The deja vu factor from the ols board is very strong. 3) Scooterboy - we've missed you sweetheart Be careful what you ask for. 4) Has anyone seen Screech lately? 5) Welcome to the board all new people - your love of PW is all you need to be accepted here. Never feed Elizabeth after midnight. 6) I get way too much pleasure out of watch Lizzy chew up and spit out newbies. 7) It's a myth that guys have to say the L word first. Just don't wear a Loreena Bobitt mask when you do so. 8) Quagmire is a fun word say drunk. 9) El Goodo - you have not gone soft. Or is that the strap on again? 10) Chris Mars first solo was surprisingly good but only because the expectations were so low. His stuff never stays with me.

i gota say all of the chris records, with the exception of 75% less ..were all quite good, tenterhooks had some stellar toon, i loved the, last song, i foget the name, but it had trumpets on it, very cool, very matsian......kinda a never been heard song.....also on his last record anonymous botch, i thnk the 3rd song was another great one..again forget the name.....he was really the first one to go back to the basement...his payment for the first recod was a studio, which he built in the basement...hense all teh "strange" production of the 3rd through 5 records....
