The Rave in Milwaukee has a "collectible" "concert" poster on their site available a PDF. It is not pretty. PLUS, it says "Paul Westerberg and His Only Friends Band." Paul Westerberg and his Only Band? Sorry, I think that was a long time ago... www.therave.com/eventinfo.asp?ID=1867man! it's a good thing they're not trying to sell that piece of shit.

What was the name of the song that was actually supposed to be the last song on CMFT? (I remember thinking that I would've liked it better than "These Days") that's "everything goes wrong"; which not surprisingly gets my vote, too. what was that song mentioned in the "book" 14 songs? "two raindrops"? i'd love to hear it. along with "come on, little bitch".

For whatever its worth. Live albums aren't just for bands like Rush. With some artists they can use the live performance as a another way of expressing whats already been put down on record. Just look at guys like Springsteen who can take songs the fans know very well and put them in a different context and suddenly the song everybody thought they knew has a hidden meaning nobody saw coming. Maybe Westerberg isn't that type of artist but I think for a guy who writes as good as he does this might be a really powerful project to take on. Lynce me if you will. i was totally kidding, cats. i LOVE rush, and that was the joke. live albums are great, but for some reason, i just don't see the need for a person like paul.

westerberg..live album? can those two actually be said in a sentence? would be tough, considering the man/band cant go more than 4 bars without a...lets say, slip up? NTTAWT, there is always a chance that magic may happen......but trying to document a westerberg show is like trying to document an ER room; lots of blood, guts, stitches, and screaming. in the end, hopefully the patient lives, but, sometimes, you lose someone. yeah, well the jerkstore called, and they're running low on you!

I like "I'll Be You" for being a perfectly half-assed attempt at making a "real" music video. i love the "i'll be you" video if only for paul's fall from the bass drum.

Gravy said it best. Notice that the album everyone is telling this person to run and get first is Let It Be, and since there's nothing from that on the collection its hard for someone on this board to recommend it. game-set-match!

Good Point! it's just, for me at least, I don't feel that collection really sums up what the mats where about ... I mean it doesn't include any of the Twin Tone Records! It's literally Half - Assed. fans like gravy & i are full assed, dammit!

i don't think that is fair at all. there are some top flight songs on that album. not all are, but some strong ones.

OK, OK, but is it essential for your first round of purchases if you are trying to introduce yourself to PW/Mats? and now I'll drop the argument, it's completely subjective of course. i would include sorry ma, but not stink in the initial purchase round. in fact, i would recommend sorry ma & let it be as the first 'mats purchases. then, hoot & ptmm. then, tim & asd. then, stink & dtas. how you like me now?!

*comes to defense of faf & gravy*
sorry ma is essential. period. all of it. cover to cover. stink is, too, but less so. however, if stink ONLY contained "kids don't follow", it would be worth your coppers.
