Nice job TW!
A good bridge is a real art form. They're not always easy but when you get a good one you know it!
One thing I noticed about the PW/Mats demos vs. the final versions over the years is that the bridges in the demos are sometimes pretty weak, then he went back and re-wrote or tweaked them before they recorded the album. It's an interesting study in songwriting and the early life-cycle of a song.

love that line. absolutely love it. OK, I took initiative and started working on a song worthy of such a great title...BRAVO racoon!!!! youtu.be/S3ouIQMy1oYAs I say on my YouTube page:::: Inspired by a discussion on the Paul Westerberg Forum @ paulwesterberg.proboards.com regarding The Replacements' final studio record "All Shook Down".Special thanks and publishing credits obviously go to fellow board members: ' raccoon' for the song title and majority of the chorus hook, and ' wiser's deluxe' for the majority of verse's words. You two as well as all of the other incredible thinkers at that forum, inspire me...thank you. ENJOY!!! TW- P.S. if anyone can come up with a good bridge, let me know, OK? very cool. i'm honored.

It was the right move.

Thanks bside. That's a cool comparison. First thing I thought of was..."Over an Ugly Dog":
...and yes, 'road weariness' nails it, never been a fan of my 'rail-thin' voice.
Thanks for listening.

Wow!! So cool TW!! A bridge? I have remnants of a couple of bridges - probably worthless bricks: <friends always said I'd go far, all the way to the corner bar> or the related <happiness rises and falls like voices in a bar at last call> There's an even finer art to writing bridges that work than writing the verse/choruses. Any ideas are welcome racoon/folks. Once again, thanks for listening...

>>>>>Care to share the lyrics? Had some time today to figure out what I was singing for ya... Black & White Blues in Color
Appreciated for what it is Its quite clear that the writing was on the wall In a dysfunctional separation After many long years to find nothing This was their 'last hurrah' And I don't mean that as a bad thing The tone was all shook down Completed as no other When it all comes 'round Black & white blues in colorCrashing onto the scene with such potential Raising attention and failing to make a deal That's not a bad thing Then something had to go This dog had run its course A poke in the eye to a blind fool The tone was all shook down Completed as no other When it all comes 'round Black & white blues in colorAll attention was focused on something else They came, they were heard, they stumbled and they mattered (repeat) 52music © February 8th, 2013 written w/ 'raccoon' and 'wiser's deluxe'
