Kathy - this won't be just a one day sale will it? I travel a lot for work and am away from a computer often. When these go on sale, how long will they be up for?
By the way, everyone is saying 4 years since folker. Doesn't anyone consider Open Season a proper release? All but 3 songs were PW?

Once it goes on sale, it'll be available from them on, it's not a limited time thing. Speaking for myself, I don't really consider Open Season a PW solo record, not that the songs aren't his, but they were written for a soundtrack and with a specific purpose and he had to contend with pleasing a bunch of movie people. SO I like them, but I don't think of it as Paul releasing exactly the songs he wanted to release, about exactly the things he wanted to write songs about, which is the ideal situation for a record. And I'll be sending out an email to the email list once the link is live, so if you are signed up for that, you'll get notified (in case you don't want to keep checking back).

Something tells me this is going to be even more raw sounding than his other diy albums. I'm thinking grandpaboy-esque. I just know this is going to be great.
Then again, he could be putting out an album of absolute noise, based on his notes.

Good point on it not being songs he would have selected and that they did have to fit a certain theme, but that is what I liked about it. It had Paul's touch while also giving us a little variation from the previous couple of basement CD's. I welcomed the polished touch. But I am still looking forward to this 49 cent release!!!

Maybe Paul confused June with February.

I think this has something to do with his feud with 50 Cent. He's apparently conceded the battle. Either that or it has something to do with the fact that he turns 49 on 12/31 this year.

Speaking of July 49th and the 33rd of July, anyone heard the new single from Panic at the Disco? It's called " 9 in the Afternoon" -- caught it on the radio yesterday, and my immediate thought was: damn, that's a Westerberg line if I ever heard one! Add PatD to the list of PW rip-off artists!!

My thoughts were more towards the Verlaines' 1984 EP: Ten O'Clock in the Afternoon, which took its title from the opening line in their song " Joed Out"

That guy in Panic at the Disco's voice is very annoying. I do like their Faces/Stones/Nikki Sudden-esque wardrobes. But, oh, the music........

My friend told me that Ryan Adams put out an album called 29 when he was that old. Makes us wonder, considering their history.
