Sorry I'll be veering back on topic, but it sounds like the public taunting of Smoo has taken hold.... I really liked this show. Solid. Rocking. Looked like they were having fun. A smaller crowd, but from my vantage point lots of hopping around. (Special mention must go to the dumbasses to our right who hooted loudly during one of the quiet songs, lit a lighter during another one, made hand gestures to go along with the lyrics - my particular favorite being pointing left during "Dial" - and just generally being rude jerks.) (Gtr says that they also made hand puppet opening and closing mouth gestures during "Achin' to Be." You know, "Opens her mouth to speak and...") (Ouch. ) (If you kids are on this bored, I smite you.) Other than the mimes, the crowd was happy, the band seemed glad to be back onstage, and peace reigned o'er the hall. "Stain Yer Blood" just came in outta nowhere and rocked my fuckin' socks off. I wish I could have hung around for the m'n'g afterward.

I am so not. Hence the smiting.
There were hand gestures, hand claps (and not like the rhythmless white guy kind, they were "I was in band in high school" hand claps) and some of the worst dancing I have seen in ages.
Those two, lemme tell ya...interpretive dance for the ages.

Please tell me you're making this up. I wish we were. There were other offences, which I'm sure we're burying in our subconscious right now. Luckily the show was great, so these annoyances were fairly minor, though I hope I never see such occurances at a rock show ever again.

this was a really great show. i'm still trying to figure out him playing "if i had a hammer".... i watched the crowd quite a bit in milwaukee. it was interesting because from my viewpoint i could see lots of the crowd was really into the folker songs, and the response to gunshy was almost as strong as the response to i will dare....which i thought was really cool. i think it's one of the best shows of his i've ever seen, and one of my favorite parts was when michael bland laughed into the microphone for his "singing" part in hootenanny... "heee heee heee" "haa haahaaa" "hohoho"

I think those 2 girls were standing in front of my husband...at the Louisville show. When PW asked for requests, they told him to take his shirt off...

One was even wearing one of those kerchief-y "I still play hacky sack" things on his head. shiversGod, I wish someone would hold me to make the bad memories stop.
