I'm just wondering why the ad banner for this thread, well, one of the ads is:
Meet Ethiopian Girls.
Perplexing. Something about Milwaukee that I don't know about?
Hope you guys have fun over there. I'll have to wait until the NYC get here...

So are we picking a place? Because if we are I am going pretty much wherever this Patrick cat says. He has the dosh.
And we are NOT going to that Ale House place. They have something called Kollege Karoake Thursdays, and I see nothing good that could come of that.

Conways seems to be the closest per CitySearch.com:
milwaukee has all the great bars. period. they're all a dying breed. and conway's is a great example. diverse mix of people. marquette university kids and townies. cheap drinks. dated jukebox. smells bad. pool tables. darts. video games.
There's also an Irish Pub called Harp and Shamrock
and for restaurants it looks like a lot of fast food and Chinese places. But I'm a sucker for a diner and there's a place called Miss Katies Diner:
Expect to find everything but the Fonz in this nostalgic greasy spoon. Standard diner fare shares the menu with homespun favorites like meatloaf and chicken with rice soup. Beverages include old-fashioned shakes and malts, as well as a full bar (open until 2am, Monday-Saturday). For after-dinner entertainment, there's pinball, mini-bowling and shuffleboard in the game room. Less-active types can stay put in a cozy, Key lime-colored booth and watch one of the four TVs.

I live in Milwaukee and know the Rave neighborhood.
Conway's is probably the best bar in the immediate area, but that's not saying much. Don't know about their restaurant, beyond that I think it only opened recently and seems to feature smoked ribs.
The general Marquette U./Rave neighborhood is pretty lame. There used to be a good Thai restaurant in the Executive Inn, but no one was interested, and it closed.
There are, however, plenty of good restaurants on the east side. (Many cool things in Milw. are on the east side.) Very good Mexican can be had on the south side. Pretty much a little bit of everything, except good pizza. What are you (y'all) looking for?
By the way, as long as you know where you stand in relation to Lake Michigan, Milwaukee is a very easy city to find your way around.

Ok guys should we go with Conway's on this one? Its close and it says there's a restaurant. The show starts at 9, doors at 8. So depending on when everyone wants to get to the show and what time we get to Madison, I'm thinking somewhere between 5 and 6?
If people interested in joining us what to PM me we can exchange phone numbers for more up to the minute details as to where the group is.

I think I am going to vote for the place on Water Street that I do not know the name of yet. I am waiting on details at this moment.
