first of all let me start out by saying that i hate all of you because you are right handed. i have been cursed as a lefty and finding guitars is nearly impossible. any how here are my current guitars. 1990 les paul jr that i had switched to a lefty. also installed standard grovers to replace the mini grover tuners. had it since 1990...will never part with it. the most comfortable guitar i've ever played and it always sounds good... epi les paul special - i think it's a 2006. i use it mainly for open tunings, mostly G. mexi fender jazz bass - 2004 i think. i like it. i'm really a guitar player but have played bass for a few bands. to be honest i wouldn't know a good bass from a bad one. jasmine acoustic - nothing fancy here. i usually don't play much acoustic but it's there if i want to bang on it...

Ever since Uncle Paulie turned me onto the First Acts, I've picked up a few of them at bargain basement prices -
ME445 - nice mellow bluesy tone ME501 - my main guitar, very dirty garage rock sound PW580 - haven't played it yet
I'm also a fan of Fenders - 1993 American Standard Telecaster (puchased in the U.A.E.) 1979 Fender Bullet Bass - apparently sort of a rarity, paid $50 for it years ago and got a free amp with it.
I also have a cheap Hohner acoustic (terrible pickups, but sounds great mic'd) and a 12 String acoustic Yamaha guitar.

Lets see, I have an old old battle-weary Crestline that I fancied up with confetti-like stickers made from cut-up bumperstickers...(Oh, I know!) and an Aria classical acoustic(neck's made too wide for this hand!) My first electric was a sixteenth birthday gift, and is the Electra with the custom paint job(used to be a sunburst finish). It needs a little work. (lol!)My main babies now are my Alvarez acoustic/electric and my Mexican Stratocaster(Damn good deal on that!) Let's see if the pic will post...

Anyone got a suggestion for a solid wood acoustic in the 500-800 dollar range. I'm looking for a dreadnaught. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Martins and Taylors are nice...not cheap, not really sure if dreadnaughts are retailing in the $500-800 range. But they've both got nice, rich, tone and sound quality. I give Martin the edge, though.

When I saw this thread earlier these were the two guitar manufacturers that popped to my mind too. Both make guitars in that price range. Like freerider I'd give Martin the edge (I have one so I'm biased.) Either way, both make excellent guitars and are definitely worth checking into.
