Great show last night. Had a really good view of the stage from the balcony.
He started out with the first 3 songs from Copper Blue, and really seemed to get into it when he played Underneath Days, bouncing around on the stage and throwing his head back and forth.
He really did a nice job with the Body of Song songs- went without the vocoder, and I thought the songs were stronger without it.
Was it just me, or did it seem like the biggest reaction from the crowd came when he played the Husker songs?

especially farty mcstinkybutt in front of me. And that is why I miss smoking in bars. I smell a lot more BO now that its not covered in a smokey haze.

not only that, the smoky haze would have nicely obscured the solid gold first ave dancers directly in front of us.... i think they were choreographed by mgd (or whatever was in the glass they toted around while busting a move)

Although, judging by the way they looked in the parking ramp on the way out, I don't think that pleasant smell lasted very long.

Circles is a great, great song. I've had Body of Song in my cd player for the last couple of weeks, listening to it everyday on the way to and from work. I've been hooked on Surveyors and Cranes lately, hitting repeat each time the song finishes. One of the best songs he's ever written (imo).

I found part of an interview Bob did for The Believer. They're not being generous, so you'll have to buy the magazine to read the rest. (Don't worry, it's a good one.) ...They were the first American independent band to cross over to the shadowy world of the major record label.... Didn't the Replacements make it to Warners before Husker Du?

I think Husker Du did, remembering what I read in Our Band Could Be Your Life.

yeah, from what's in Our Band Could Be Your Life, Husker Du signed first but had Flip Your Wig already recorded and they decided to still release it on SST, then record with Warner's money
