Read the lyrics - it's obviously a reference about passing gas - one of those that slips out before it's time. ;D I knew one could light them, but imagine one with enough juice to light the night! I'm your spark BOOOM! You have ruined this song for me! From now on I will laugh instead of cry.

Innaresting, CC. Don't have the record ("Weird Tales") but found the lyrics: Cool! Even if it's not true, it fits. Saw the Smog this summer and they did that song.

Doh, I always heard "custom casket". "Gassed" up makes more sense lyrically I guess.

Here's my cockeyed view of what Paul was thinking - now they're zipping her up in a (black, crackly) bag, you can hear her blacks crackle and drag (now, can't you?).

CFMT DVD - in the basement he says "Where's that river song?". I think he was working on "Wild & Lethal".

Anyone love "All that I Had" as much as me? Very poppy but as good as a pop song could get.

From my first listen 23' is/was my favorite of the slower darker tunes. I like the way Paul applied voice. I don't get how anyone could think of it as "filler". It's personal but I think we all identify with longing for something that could have been...

but you ain't lived until you've seen the tip-toed double whammy finger. I'm imagining something like Fred Flintstone's bowling approach, without the ball.

I'm hear'n "Waiting for the Sun" (Jayhawks) from the guitar solo forward on "How can you like him"..... anyone feeling me on this? If I were a country disco DJ on high grade Copenhagen, then I could see a good mix here.... Absolutely, I independantly came up with the same thought earlier today. Very Louris-like playing on this one. Is it too late for my early bird review? I think the whole thing is brilliant. Like others have said, it's not a first listen love. It takes a little gettin to know, then steals your heart away.

A negative review. And an error in the first two sentences (Paul lives in Edina, a suburb of Minneapolis) ahhh, now "Meet me down the alley" is making perfect sense. That song describes the contrast between Edina and Minneapolis perfectly. "Where I live now there's no sidewalks, only small talk". I'm not knocking Edina, someone I know, very well, grew up there. It's just a very different feel than in the city, where there are alleys and sidewalks.

Says "To Jim, Funk You, Like P. W." My regret is that I wasn't there, a friend took it to Chicago for me.

It was a super fun night. My favorite quote came when Mary Lucia was talking with Laurie about her family's love of musicals, and how when life threw them a curve they'd watch a musical. To which Mary replied, "In our family, we drink".
