She called and left the "get your ass down here" message. 23 years ago he would have run every mile, but now he waits till the next morning to return the call. By then she'd come to her senses. I'm such a geek, anyone else I find it sadly familiar when Spock was awakened by Kirk from his spore-induced love stupor in that one episode of Star Trek? I guess it does make sense with the following line but I also think that a decision you make yourself can also lead you to tears. So you're on the same page I am thinking she's the one that called and then the next day he called her and she changed her mind?

Does anyone else hear this as You said maybe this ain't the right thing to do? I keep hearing this. While its not a big thing to catch it does change the perspective of the song a bit. I usually think of it as him making the decision not to go meet with this woman but I can't help hearing the you and it meaning she got his hopes up and then changed her mind. But yet it doesn't really fit with the line 23 years ago I would've run every mile. Cause that shows hesitation on his part. Anyone want to give me their two cents and help me put this to rest? I hear "you" too and it makes sense with the line that follows:

Well, no worries then . I think there's a cow mooing at about 2:10. It's a haunting song. "maybe you was the one I should have holded on to"

Yes, I hear the bottle, the sigh to signal the intro...but no dogs until about a 1/2 minute later. This is more fun than playing my Beatles records backwards. What are the dogs telling you to do?

I think this is one woman not to be messed with. She was sitting behind me at the Minneapolis screening of CFMT with those boots hanging over the seat next to me.

Forgive me Paul, but from My Daydream:
"Tell me everything that you ever wanted, tell it to me right here"
Instead:
"Tell me everything that you ever wanted, tell me right here I am"
Because: A. I keep hearing it that way, and 2. It's a 'before and after' ("tell me right here", and "here I am").

Last night I woke in the middle of the night with this burst bubble realization and came up with these paulish lines:
reality checked into the boards or reality cross checked or reality check's in the mail or reality, checkered
