Is it just me, or have absolutely zero of the news outlets covering this picked up the connection with Beatles For Sale?
It's The Replacements For Sale. Like Let It Be.
Where are the music journalists on this one?

I'm in on this just for the covers of "Fox On The Run" and "Baby Strange"...

So excited for this. Bob Mehr posted that this was done via a mobile unit so expect sonic greatness!

My bootleg of this was called 'Maniac'. 2nd show I ever got of the Mats and always one of my favorites.
Always wondered why Paul kept of shouting out 'murder!' at the beginning of the show. Anybody know the story? Maybe it will be revealed in the liner notes. Too bad it won't have the tacked on material from the boot but I bet the sound will be phenomenal considering that the unofficial version already sounds great. Hope they sell a ton! I will be buying for sure.

Now I've got a shitload of boots from every era thanks to my time at Tapetrader.com plus over at altmusic.replacements trading with other geeks.

Minus the cymbals (judging from the "Can't Hardly Wait" tease) sound quality seems legit!

Love how on the boot Paul ad-libs "you can burn this tape" instead of "don't treat me special or don't kiss my ass" in "Waitress in the Sky"... did they know they were being taped? Maybe that's why they were on fire that night. You'd think it'd signal a historic flop...

Another nice show to release would be the 1989 Milwaukee show that was also pro recorded for a promo release. One can hope. There is no other recording of this show that I know of so except for the 4 songs released it would be new listening.

Remember hearing Fox on the Run as a 7 year old, changed my life, now hearing the 'mats crush it is reason enough to own this record...

That's a comp of different shows. The 5 songs on Shit, Shower and Shave are the only available recordings from that show.

They really don't know how it goes so it peters out. Still, very cool to hear. Also Paul does a solo If Only You Were Lonely which wasn't played much at all. I can't think of another Mats show during the heyday when they played it. Paul started playing it on the 2002 solo tour and it became a fan favorite.

Does anyone know if the vinyl comes with a digital download? Most of the Rhino vinyl I have gotten recently has not but I thought I would ask anyway.

The pre-release song clips from Maxwell's sound really good! They are sharing a song a day.
