They posted another photo last week from the same show. Anyone recognize the photos and able to pinpoint the exact date from 1986? Seems likely that it could be a live recording from that show.

Track listing on Amazon is exactly the same as the Murder at the Maxwell bootleg... which i acquired some years ago. This is an amazing show...the bootleg was exceptional. Hope this is the first of many shows to be released!

Do you think they put some professional polish on it? Waiting for official announcement from Mat's page...

Interesting (and cool) that they're including Answering Machine. Paul's guitar is so horribly out of tune on that track. It's the one flaw of what I consider the best live recording of them in their prime. I hope they're not cutting out anything - between song silence, etc. A true and complete set. Stoked for the vinyl.

Do you think they put some professional polish on it? Waiting for official announcement from Mat's page... Yeah, I think some pros put a shine to it From Bob Mehr's FB page, he posts: Brian Kehew did the mixing of the tracks, a guy who has worked with everyone, including Talking Heads, Black Sabbath, The Ramones, Fleetwood Mac, The Pretenders, Rod Stewart, Redd Kross, etc. Howie Weinberg mastered the recording. This ain't a flash in a pan recording, it's the real deal. This period of time was the Mats near their peak. I saw them a few months prior, the best gig I have ever seen in my life. Their Maxwells gig was a couple of weeks after their SNL appearance. I still have the Shit Hits The Fans tape, but I won't play it anymore since it is a 30 year old cassette tape (plus I do not own a cassette player). This CD will be a great addition.

Yeah I am really glad it's not just a pressing of the bootleg that's been circulating for years. I saw them a few weeks after this show and I agree, this was their peak. They were playing fewer disaster shows and starting to realize how great they really were. There's a lot of confidence, but still plenty of the messing around too. This show in particular really shows off what an incredible talent Bob was and what his playing brought to the band. It's incredible.

Hmmm... I think this will be one of three releases. We will get Live at Maxwell (Bob era)...One from the Slim era...and the Midway concert.
