My favorite track off the Beatles "Love" album. You can hear the whole album on you tube. It's worth picking up on cd as it's all remastered and really sounds great in headphones.

Ha! While we're at it, why not a feature film? Paul and Tommy Go to White Castle

That's a pretty good mash up...always the loved that bluesy guitar intro to Baby You can Drive My Car.

Who was the best guitarist in The Beatles? George was the best schooled, and knew the value of understatement, Paul maybe had the most proficient technical skill (and killed on acoustic), but John had some kinda primitive, raw power, gutbucket blues thing going on there...Can't believe those three guys were all in the same band...That's overkill...

guessing, me and anarkissed should make up, no? i'll drink and stink the next day, so long as the brown liquor kicks in. i'd prefer taking the low road, but the songs are bouncing off my headphones, from matthew sweet's "do ya" and a westerberg sonnet or two.
too?
from what i can tell we have about as much in common as farts and egos can hold. and that wind's blowing my self-depricating way.
so make mine wisers and sometimes jameson and i'll call this a dawn in the bare lightbulb of this basement where i can smoke and drink and write as long as my fingers stay steady and nimble in this late november chill.

We've already made up! I think you were just too drunk to tell, or remember! I took the high road, by the way, uncharacteristically, but I respect the low road...Ream me if it makes you feel better...Honestly, I won't think less of you...It's often been pretty fucking funny...I think your ego is bigger than mine (remember, my problem is poor self-esteem), but I'd bet I fart more than you do...Not that I'm particularly proud of that...Enjoyed the Matthew Sweet reference...I really think "Sick of Myself" is one of the greatest pop songs ever written...(Although, why do I suspect that you're going to tell me that everything he did after "Inside" was sell-out garbage?) I envy you the luxury of having "basements"...That must be cool...Here, if you put a spoon in the ground, water comes out...We're below sea level...The next best thing we have are "tool sheds", which, somehow, doesn't seem nearly as glamorous...That brown liquor; I don't know...See, I feel like if I'm drinking something hard that is at least clear, it's somehow purer, and, therefore, healthier...Though I guess you could say that brown shit has more "nutritional value"...Eh, I wouldn't be drinking anyway if I could find a crooked doctor...I always enjoy your posts, you crazy fucker...

youtube.com/watch?v=HlknQ_Q7deo"] I've always liked this song by S & G. Am wondering what Paul's thoughts were as he hit the road for the reunion gigs and saw the country doing these festivals. Did he get any ideas for songs/lyrics out of it?

(my humble take)

Yeah, "Girlfriend", that was his peak...My ex-wife used to play that album so much that, to this day, my son absolutely loathes Matthew Sweet...Which is unfortunate, because, if he hadn't been force-fed it, I think he might've liked it...Heh...After that, there were usually still good songs on subsequent releases, but they seemed front-loaded, so I'd love, like, the first three, and then never remember what the other nine even sounded like...I think I checked out after "Blue Sky on Mars"...Though I liked that "Under the Covers" series he did with Susanna Hoffs...Great cover of R.E.M.'s "Sitting Still"...I expect that this is exactly the kind of thing you'd hate: two 80's icons covering somebody else's songs because they've run out of ideas, but I'm pop hack enough to appreciate it...Plus, I always had a thing for Susanna Hoffs, and if somebody told me: "Would you like to spend six months in a studio standing really, really close to Susanna Hoffs?", it'd be hard to turn down, whatever hit I took to my integrity...

Funny enough, the other day I was contemplating trying a rock'n'roll cover of Lido Shuffle.

Keith Morris's new band's new hilarious vidja. He was in Black Flag, Circle Jerks and now Off!
It's pretty funny.
