Doh! I guess that means no Lollapalooza? Or could they possibly just play on another night?

Doh! I guess that means no Lollapalooza? Or could they possibly just play on another night? I would guess no on Lolla... I can't see them doing two in one weekend. But hey, who knows. Their schedule thus far has been completely unpredictable. For those who can make it to Osheaga... do it. Montreal is one of my favorite cities ever & I've been wanting to make it to Osheaga for years now! The line up is fucking badass too... Nick Cave! Sam Roberts Band! Danny Brown! Four Tet! Dismemberment Plan! etc. etc. etc.

I'm putting this in the "seriously considering" column.

I highly recommend a trip to Montreal, my birthplace, for Osheaga. Like countless other anglos I relocated to Toronto many years ago, but Montreal is a great city, particularly in the summer (in the winter...not so much).Unfortunately I won't make it to Osheaga as I'll be in N.Y.C. that weekend.

Long time lurker and huge fan that finally has to say something. Been to the last 5 Osheaga's and this will be my 6th (and it's already the best one knowing the mats are playing)
For a big festival, it's one of the better one's as far as location, layout, etc; and the city is pretty great too. If anyone has any questions about the fest, let me know and i'll try to help.

Shit. I Have to pick Louisville or Montreal. Louisville gets points because its closer to home, I like the lineup better and I've never been there before. Montreal gets points because it's farking Montreal, bleachers! And that town is the shizlit. But it will be a longer travel time. Curse you, God! Why must you make me play this cruel game of Sophie's Choice?!!? Does it amuse you to torment me?!??!! Cursed, wretched, all-seeing bearded being!!!

I have the same quandry facing me Monkeytot. Louisville is much more doable from a logistics standpoint, but Montreal is my second favorite city in North America. And Nick Cave...and Flogging Molly...and Foster The People...and Jack White...

bigbak I'm thinking I may make Louisville a one-nighter. It's about 5 hours away (from Detroit) so it could work. I wish I knew what night as hotels are filling up fast. I'm also hoping for someone to be the Kerouac to my Cassidy to split gas $$ and keep it lively. Driving through Ohio is boring as shit. I've been to Montreal once and it is an amazing place. That one would most likely be a Wed-Monday deal-and do all 3 days for Haim (Bass Face!)and Band of Horses and Hospitality as well. What's yr first favorite North American city? Toronto Chicago Ny also rawk!

would love to get to Montreal, everyone who has ever been there has told me nothing but good things about the place. Not sure if I can do it, am leaning more towards Atlanta

Time off from work is my greatest hurdle. If I can do two fest's, it'll be Montreal and Louiville - I can drive to Louisville from Colorado, but I'll have to fly to Montreal. If only there was some way to lure the 'mats back to Denver...Red Rocks would make for a great one-off show. Maybe get a few more acts in on it, make it a 5 or 6 band hootenanny.
Oh, and Boston is my #1 city in North America.

Hello folks, Does anyone know which day they're playing on? I see that Nick Cave is Saturday, so I'm somewhat hoping they're the same day.. Hoping to keep it to one day at the festival if possible; last time I was at Osheaga, I was peed on by a stranger.

I was peed on by a stranger. I hate when that happens...Frankly, I don't care for it much when it's someone I know either...But I prefer that to being vomited on by either...

Last time I was in Montreal I stayed in a hostel and Oloff from Sweden decided to make me his fun buddy.

Jail. Hostel. Travel is all about new people, new experiences.
