Last night, during Thursday Night Football on Fox (Washington @ Minnesota), they played "Bastards of Young" as bumper music going into the commercial break in the second half.

Walked into the supermarket and saw this. Opened it mostly for the guitar. First page I turned to was the tour following Full Moon Fever. Saw a pic of Tommy jamming with the Heartbreakers, the next page said ‘Orlando. The Replacements were not well received by the fans.’

Shawn Colvin was on it, and I was enthralled by her performance of a song called, ‘Even Here We Are,’ written by American songwriter Paul Westerberg. That’s when I started listening to Paul, and one of my favourites of his was always ‘It’s A Wonderful Lie’.”" It's track 9 on her album of the same name.

Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes this morning on Howard Stern talked about REM and alternative music from the 80s and how they loved The Replacements because they were famous for f*cking up, and their best show they didn't even play a song, they just came out and threw up.

Watching a bad 80s movie called My Chauffeur, there is a scene where Flash Gordon (idk actor's real name) gets drunk and naked then runs around a park, with "Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out" as the soundtrack.

So I have a free trial of Sirius radio in my car for the past few months. Twice I've heard Bash and Pop being played on Little Stevens Underground Garage. This morning, I heard "Loose Ends" from FNIKM. the other month, I heard "On the Rocks".
Funny, with the release of the re-mastered and re-mixed DMP/DTAS stuff, I thought I'd hear some of it being played. Nope. haven't heard any of it at all.
I was kind of hoping that some of those songs off of DMP/DTAS would re-surface and be played and maybe get a new audience.
i guess the past is the past. When it's over, move on. No point in watering a dead flower.

Great powerful opening...such a sweet sweet voice with a ton of depth. The guitar is terrific. As is the piano. She makes it her own. Tough to do. Heckuva fantastic cover...

Wait. No Monkee's 'Head'? Funny trying to pick a single Stone's record to fit the (rolled up) bill. I'd go with the trainwreck that is 'Satanic Majesties'.

Today on SiriusXM Volume - This Day In Music History bumper, they mentioned the passing of Bob Stinson on this date in 1995 and talked about his contributions to The Replacements for a moment.

Saw an ad in the newspaper for Puss N Boots featuring Norah Jones, Sasha Dobson & Catherine Popper said they had "fetching" originals "mixed with loving covers of songs by Tom Petty Angel Dream, Dolly Parton The Grass Is Blue, Paul Westerberg It's A Wonderful Lie, and Concrete Blonde Joey."
