It has been a long-standing dream of mine that someday Paul would record "Another Girl, Another Planet" with Tanya Donelly, goddamn that would rock.
Kim Deal's a good pick too.

Lucinda Williams Marianne Faithful Neko Case By the way, Lucinda recently did duet with Graham Parker on his last album but I haven't heard it yet. Has anyone?

Cruel Lips (Graham Parker/ Lucinda) ; super song! not a duet in the classic sense, but very discernible and complimentary vocals from Lu. The whole album is great and that track is a standout. Speaking of Graham, I still think Paul should hire the Figgs as a backup band, not only did they breathe life into GP, but they did a killer cover of " Take me down to the hospital" when I saw them live.
my 2 cents for a Paul duet: Caitlin cary from Whiskeytown, or Chrissie Hynde

My favorite Lucinda duet is the one she did with Steve Earle on "You're Still Standin' There."

Aimee Mann Kathleen Edwards Shelby Lynne
Patti Smith or Patty Griffin (at the Louisville show)
I like the Neko Case and Lucinda choices listed above too.

Patti Smith or Patty Griffin (at the Louisville show) When this question came up on another thread my answer was Patti Smith. Seeing as I won't be in Louisville, if they perform together there don't tell me. I'd rather not know what I'm missing.

Tanya Donelly, yeah sure. and Julianna Hatfield too....I can see how their voices would go together, like Tom Waits and Aviril Lavigne.

Oh, and Cat Power. Just thought of that one. My heart would burst!!! I'm not sure if it would burst from the happiness of hearing my two favorite people together, or becasue those two would make the saddest song in the history of music, but I would certainly end up dead in front of the stereo.
