Is this tune just a throwaway -- a little melodic hook, a play on words -- or do you think there's a Bigger Meaning?
Personally, I like to think it's a sort of prayer of forgiveness for abandoning Bob, but I'm probably full of s**t.

It's probably a song fragment he had, that he didn't bother fleshing out...
because not all songs need 3 verses/choruses. I like the idea of Paul throwing in these short songs, it's a good way to throw a bit of unpredictability into a record.

yeah, unpredictability. and do it right and they even make nice transitions from one song to the next (a la never felt like this before).
Eventually probably could use a song fragment in there somewhere, though ain't got me kind of is built out of em (though not as extreme as that old Wings song "Uncle Albert")

Didn't Paul say in some interview, that he has some incredibly catchy song for the Folker album, that is only 80 seconds (or some short amount like that)?

I didn't mind the Strike up the Band portion, but I'll always wonder what Never Felt .... would have sounded like had he felt the need flush it out. I'll also wonder if it was something left over from SG, as it had the same mood, to my ear.

He said he found it on a tape right next to "Self Defense" and just tossed it onto CFMT.
