DON'T SELL OR BUY, IT'S CRAP! Replacements fans, a gentle reminder: the Internet and social media is filled with unscrupulous merchants trying to sell you all kinds of trash - from lousy looking t-shirts to shitty sounding records - by claiming its "official" or "officially licensed" by the band. Please don't fall for it! Unless you see it announced on this official The Replacements Facebook page or via the official RHINO page, it's just a bunch of bootleg bunk and you are very likely to get ripped off. But please *do* keep an eye out here for real, official and very exciting Replacements release news coming this summer.
- So, sounds like more box sets, or other exciting releases, coming soon! This also seems to confirm that the Riot Fest Toronto bootleg was just that. That said, the Riot Fest Toronto LPs are soundboard, and sound awesome!

Speculation I've seen since is that Tommy was interviewed on SiriusXM earlier this week and mentioned a Tim box set coming in the fall! I didn't hear the interview, but very cool if true!

If the 16 or 24 track master tapes are still in existence and in good shape, and someone really good to start the project from scratch and remix the entire album, I think Tim would be the most exciting re-issue from The Replacements. Even Westerberg has stated Tim had great songs, but a very poor mix.

Actually Toronto LP was Official. It was released on same label, cobraside, as tommy’s upcoming record and even alerts sent out via mats official website.

Interesting...sounds like someone made a copy of something they shouldn't have. The rumor last year was someone heard the remix and it was awesome. For the Replacements Facebook site to get out ahead of it means something is out there.

I actually remember it being the opposite. I can’t remember the poster’s name but in other posts, going back a good while, he spoke of working for record labels or something like that. Not saying what he posted was true, just that, if anything, his posting history made it seem slightly plausible. |
