Just got back. Wow, he sounded fucking great. Just him and an acoustic guitar. Did a nice mix of solo, Bash & Pop, and previewed some new Cowboys songs from the upcoming album, which sounded awesome. His opener, Diane Gentile (wasn't familiar before) was also a treat.
I wore my CC Club shirt that I got when I visited Minneapolis last year and as soon as I walked into the venue and was getting my hand stamped I heard; "Heyyyyyy, CC Club!" Boom, there's Tommy greeting me, haha. We chatted for a bit before the show, I got him to sign my Replacements ticket stub from 1991, we discussed the finer points of playing dice with bums for 40's of malt liquor in the early 90's, The Replacements opening for The Alarm back in the early 80's, and got some rad pics and videos. Once I figure out how to post them on here I will.
Definitely a fun night and I highly recommend catching him if comes 'round your way. Again, he sounded fannnntastic tonight.

Looking forward to the record, although I guess this means he won't be touring with a full band anytime soon. I find his solo sets way too sloppy, and not in a good way.

I should've messaged you to see if you were interested in meeting up, I literally found out about the gig that afternoon and made a beeline into DC.

yeah kinda sucks always going to see some shows by yourself, I've done that a number of times. I remember in college trying to get someone to go with me to the Mats shows in DC (basically someone with a car!) but nobody knew who the Mats were and didn't want to go. But no worries, I couldn't have made that gig anyway due to some family stuff I was doing.
