I just purchased tickets to see Tommy n Chip at a backyard show later this month. Anyone been to one of these? Can you share what I'm in for? I'll tell you I'm excited as all heck.

I have not seen Cowboys in the Campfire before, however I went to two shows Tommy did solo in Dec. 2019. One a house concert outside of Buffalo and the other at small record store here in Rochester. Both were great, mainly because I had no expectations going in, so I'll admit it was simply a thrill being there. Tommy's lifetime in music and showbiz makes him a pro performer in any setting and that was on display. These two shows were very different in venue and tone and they were so fun. I suppose given the nature of his style and reputation, there was an air of excitement and uncertainty...but he was really open with each crowd and very warm. I hope to see him and his buddy Chip around here this summer. Have fun!

I've seen them twice. Once at the Turf Club in Minny and second time here in SLC at The Heavy Metal Shop. Both shows were fuckin' awesome!! Here in Salt Lake, Tommy and Chip hung with a buddy and I after the show well past midnight playing pool and hanging out .... just us 4. My buddy still raves about it to this day. You should be excited and you're going to be super stoked afterwards. Tell those foos to get their asses back out West!!

I went to an in-store they did in Louisville, had a great time. A lot of interaction between Tommy, Chip and the attendees after the show. Telling stories, taking selfies (watch out Tommy WILL kiss you, man, woman, or beast), and signing autographs. Oh, and by the way, be sure to buy "Sippy's Blend" of food seasoning if Chip is still selling it. That stuff is excellent in your scrambled eggs!

Well, the show was this past Wednesday and it was awesome. The setup was Tommy and Chip performing for about an hour and then the host's son's punk/thrash band doing a set. It was really cool to see Tommy enjoying the energy of the young band and offering encouragement. What a great concept Cowboys in the Campfire is and it was done with great execution. The young band was called Freedom Rockets. Did some Johnny Thunders, Nirvana and even Color Me Impressed.

Last night at Abilene Bar and Lounge in Rochester, NY.....so good..... I'm sure it was a blast. Tommy playing something other than that green acoustic. We got a little better than an hour at our show. How long was this one?

Last night at Abilene Bar and Lounge in Rochester, NY.....so good..... I'm sure it was a blast. Tommy playing something other than that green acoustic. We got a little better than an hour at our show. How long was this one? This show was also just over an hour. So good. I wish I had taken a shot with Chip's lap steel...in his lap. I didn't want to disturb anyone during the show, so I waited and took this one, and a couple others, when they came back on to play one more....Anything Can Happen? Can't recall, exactly. Tommy said his green guitar "shit the bed the other day", so the one he's playing was given to him by Billie Joe Armstrong. It had all of Green Day's signatures on it but they're beginning to wear off now that's he's playing it. He said he's gotta send it back when the tour's over so they can re-sign it. I guess that's a pretty significant show detail that I should've reported, so thanks for asking! I ain't no BBop.
