I know this may be a long shot, but does anyone know what tuning Paul uses for this song? It doesn't sound/look like standard tuning-

nope no long shot whatsoever i got the answer.... it's the tuning he uses frequently on stereo/mono with a capo at fret 6!
low to high: D# G# C D# G# C
don't forget the capo!
