While looking in the liner notes at the actual photo used for the cover of Sorry Ma, I noticed two things I never knew.
- I had assumed the "hidden" person in the middle of the cover was Bob. Now I know it's just Tommy's right arm. I always thought the cover photo was intact and the blue logo/word part was laid on top of the photo. I see now that the photo is ripped to reveal the blue logo.
- I also assumed Tommy was jumping into the air while playing his bass. The liner note photo shows he's actually sitting on a stool. (I prefer the thought of him jumping, but that image is ruined now...)
I used to have the cassette of Sorry Ma, which I gave away a few day ago, so I have no idea if the actual photo was ever on the inside before now. Was it?

I have never seen the cassette version, but I have the Twintone release on CD and vinyl and the actual, clear photo is not used. CF

"And there’s a great demo of “Talent Show” for “Don’t Tell A Soul.”
Ahhhh, can't wait.
I'm really hoping a few other songs from the "scrapped record" make it on the DTAS reissue. Wake Up and Portland were such good songs that there has to be more of that caliber from that session.

I was surprised by the complete Sorry Ma cover too. I have a Sorry Ma cassette around here somewhere and no, I don't believe it had the put-together version of the photo.
The new Sorry Ma CD printing of the famous original handwritten liner notes is not very legible.

if you look closer tommy actually is jumping, the stool is farther in the background, plus his feet dont align with the stool, they are both in the air.....and at that age i dont think tommy knew how to stand still, and god bless him for it!!!!

Tommy was one of the best jumpers around. I wonder if he can still get air? ;D

I had read once somewhere that he used to weigh down his shoes or something when he wasn't playing so that he could jump higher while on stage. Probably just another wonderful tall tale though.
