I'm buying the bonus tracks from iTunes. Honestly, I can't afford to buy each record for the second -- make that third -- time around.

I didn't replace my old beat-up CDs when the remastered versions were out a couple of yrs ago, so I'll probably just splurge and get all 4. Most of the bonus material is stuff I haven't heard, so I'm eagerly looking forward to that the most.

I bypassed the previous round of reissues too, but there's no way I'll be doing the same this time around.

I pre ordered all four along with the new REM. Should arrive any day now. I emailed Peter Jesperson about someone possibly sending my local college radio station copies so I can request songs to be played. He was kind enough to reply that he passed my email on to the Rhino publicity dept. It would be very refreshing to hear this station play Takin' A Ride or Color Me Impressed. But I'm thinking my first request will be Take Me Down To The Hospital. Should be fun.

I will probably end up getting them all at once. I think they're already ordered.

Hopefully all the Guns and Roses fans who've been turned onto the Mats by Tommy will do themselves a massive favour and rush out to buy the reissues instead of waiting and
waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting ...
on Chinese Democracy...

Any day now: Guns N' Roses voting for 'Democracy'
April 22, 2008
FROM BILLBOARD
With a new management team in place, Guns N’ Roses is ‘‘in negotiations’’ for the release of its decade-in-the-making album ‘‘Chinese Democracy,’’ according to a post on the band’s Web site.
The message did not elaborate on what the discussions concern, or offer an approximate release date for ‘‘Chinese Democracy,’’ which was last on Interscope’s release schedule in March 2007.
The Chinese might have democracy before Axl Rose and his band Guns N' Roses ever releases its long-delayed next album, "Chinese Democracy."
In other GNR news, guitarist Robin Finck has left the Axl Rose-led band to return to Nine Inch Nails, and will tour with the latter act this summer.
‘‘Robin’s plans caught everyone in Guns, as well as our fans, a bit off-guard,’’ the band says. ‘‘Neither we nor management, etc., know any more in this regard and we prefer not to speculate or offer opinions at this time.’’
‘‘When we begin to put tour plans together, we’ll see where things are,’’ the post continues. ‘‘Until then, Robin’s touring with NIN and we’re working with management on our game plans.’’

During my lunch break I went to 2 stores in the area, and neither one of them had a single copy of any of the Rhino reissues. Sadly one of the stores didn't even have a single Replacements CD of any kind. This is what I get for being in the suburbs. My favorite record store downtown has the new Mats discs, but as I won't be near there for at least a week I ended up ordering them through Amazon. Bye bye 7" vinyl bonus . p.s. At least I scored the Spin magazine today.
