VH1 has a preview of the reissued "Let It Be" streaming on their site, including 2 of the bonus tracks: A cover of "20th Century Boy" and an outtake - "Sixteen Blue" with alt. vocals. You can listen to it here.

this version of 16 blue makes me wonder just how much stuff is actually out there... the alt take 16 blue i have always had is a version with piano; which i think is just fabulous. this rhino version is cool, too, though. i guess i am just saying that i'll bet there is enough material out there for a full on, heart stopping boxset.

Is "Sixtee Blue" a typo, or is this an updated version from a senior citizen point of view? "Drive your ma to the doc 'I've fallen and I can't get up!' But yer lyin' Now you're lyin' on your back" anywho, you can listen to short clips of Hootienanny here, including the bonus songs: www.vh1.com/artists/az/replacements/2222051/album.jhtml

So when listening to the whole album via the VH1 link, does anyone get this short clip at the end of what appears to be an interview about what interests the person in rock 'n roll, the answer having something to do with matches, alcohol, the instrument, and "shrubs around the house"?

so they put an alt vocal take of sixteen blue, but it's not the mix that features chan poling's amazing piano prominently?
LAME
so far i am completely underwhelmed by the bonus material. i haven't heard anything even mildly revelatory. hey good looking, but a goofy studio take and not the wonderful live version that is the b side to i will dare? COME ON!

COME ON! while i agree with you on sixteen blue, i don't think the bonus material is lame. in fact, i just listened to ain't no crime, and i have never heard it before. it rocks & rocks hard. the fast version of johnny's gonna die is awesome, too. i had a good chunk of this bonus material already (my version of perfect lethal has different lyrics, though), but i am grateful for the ones i didn't have. i, for one, am glad that the hey good lookin' version is a studio one. in fact, i am so glad they didn't include any "live at goofy's" or similar material. i've got enough straight boots. i was lookin' for the studio work. anyone want my old copies of sorry ma - lib cd's? *is looking forward to the next batch of rereleases*

anyone want my old copies of sorry ma - lib cd's? That's funny. I was also thinking of giving away my old copies, but when I went to pull them from the shelf, I couldn't do it. I've had those discs for so long...they're kinda like old friends. Feels wrong to just let them go. Besides, my old copy of Hoot has always rattled when spun, & I think I'm gonna miss that.

I'm recycling my old discs to my young nephews. They're almost getting old enough to like them....

I still had the cassette tapes of three of the re-releases. Good Will is now the proud owner of those.
(I assume Good Will is nationwide, but if not, it's like Salvation Army.)
