With the impending release of the Twin Tone reissues, a few of us were disappointed that a few songs were not included as extras--"Who's Gonna Take Us Alive" and "Street Girl," for instance. I would have also liked to have the band version of "Don't Get Married," too, along with PW's demo.
What are your "must-haves" for the Sire reissues? I will be significantly let down if all of the the following are not included:
"Nowhere is My Home": This one must be included, as it captures the band at its height--passionate vocals, a roaring guitar solo, majestic sloppiness. This is the greatest of the rarities, hands down, and not including it in the reissues will be a major disappointment.
"P.O. Box": I'll always wanted to hear a cleaned up version of this song. Another rocker.
"Learn How To Fail" "Run for the Country": Two gentler outtakes from PTMM; I can't see how these two would not be included.
I sincerely hope these four will be on the Sire re-issues and are not packaged with the alleged future box set just to get us fanatics to shell out money for that, too. (Of course, I will buy the box set anyway, but that's besides the point.)

Would love to hear unpolished stuff from Don't Tell a Soul. And the songs that Bob played on for PTMM.

I've always had a real soft spot for 'Only If We Must' and would love to have a decent copy of that - even if it's not really the Mats per se..

i know they played a "BAND" version of sadly beautiful on the Dont Tell a Soul tour, would love to hear that...a mid tempo gem, with more lyrics, also some other outtakes played on various boots i have from that tour which are really potentially great nuggets,,,also want to hear PO BOX....and i know paul has mentioned rough mixes of DTAS are out there so they should make it to this release....

The airshaft version of "CHW" and "Nowhere Is My Home" are musts. I agree it would be a huge disappointment if either was left off. Given how things usually go when it comes to the Mats, I absolutely sure, however, that one of them will be missing. But we're Mats fans and we're used to disppointment, that's just how we roll.
"Run For The Country" and "Learn How To Fail" are easily among the best songs PW's ever written, gotta have those as well.

Paul said in an interview that the airshaft or acoustic Can't Hardly Wait was on the tape that went into the river. I don't believe him for a second.

'Trouble on the Way' and 'Make This Your Home' were also on the PTMM out-takes. Both are top notch.

i'm in agreement about cleaned-up/stripped-down versions of "all shook down" and "don't tell a soul"... it feels like westerberg really fell into a stride, lyrically, on those records, but the production really makes it difficult for me to listen to them...
incidentally, i feel the same way about nirvana's "nevermind". i would do a lot of questionable things to hear a straight, demo-style recording of those songs.
