I have heard approximately 15 different plans for things happening pre-show. I would like to nominate my choice, and if you don't like it, lump it.
I meant to say - then offer up a solid idea of your own.
Pre-Show:
Eat: This HopLeaf place that has been recommended by one of our own.
Drink: Green Mill near the Riv
Post-Show?
I don't know. Do you?

This could work. Didn't the guy say we'd have to cab it from the HopLeaf to the Riv where the green mill is by? That might be hard with a big group.
But if its cool with everyone else, its cool with me.

This is sounding better and better, especially because I AM INSANELY SICK OF TRYING TO DO THIS. Where's a goddamned Hopleaf menu?

EM -- We can definitely do the HopLeaf. I PM'd you about this but thought that anyone could have a look. Here's a site that will tell you whats at each stop of the Red Line which is what we'll be taking from the hotel to the theatre. centerstage.net/virtual-el/howard-danryan/This place may be a bit off the EL but looked good: www.deleece.com/The only menus I've found for the HopLeaf are beer.

Chicago people! Please click the link above and do some poking around and see if there is a restaurant to your liking! Please express your top two choices! Please print clearly and hand your ballot in to me or post it here, I don't care!
Apologies Chicago group, I just fucking lost it today. If I try to gather one more piece of info on this trip I will go batshit insane.
Love, EM

But if its cool with everyone else, its cool with me. i wouldn't be opposed cabbing it from the HopLeaf to the GreenMill (for pre-show drinks), and then hop across the street to the Riv of the show. and if anyone has a problem, there's probably a McDonald's on the way for them.

Ok, according to my chicago friend, HopLeaf is fantastic with a ton of beers on tap and authentic, good, belgian food.

Props to Kathy for introducing me to the phrase "batshit crazy." You'll find it comes in handy 30 or 40 times a day when dealing with your fellow humans

Gotta find a menu - I'm gonna have two vegetarians in tow.
Should someone call about getting their party room?
Wait, I suppose we should get a head count first...duh.

Might be better to do a restaurant. You have to be 21 to get into Hopleaf, even for dinner, and I think there is at least one person in the group who is under the drinking age I believe. I'd hate for anyone who wanted to be included on the food, fun and conversation to get shutout, especially since they won't get the chance later at the bars.
Just my two cents.

Just my two cents. that's all well and good, but i'm not hearing any other alternatives from the crowd. if anyone else wants to get off their ass and do some figuring and planning, then i'm all for it (not that i'm one of the get-off their assers, which is why i'm so agreeable). but as for now, i'd say HopLeaf it is.
