<sigh> no, it's the hat I was too chicken to ask for and my friend ended up taking home (I'm a loser baby). I did get my chance to wear it in the bars of Mpls though.

Indeed he did. He also played a twelve string Strat over the weekend, plus the usual Telecaster and Les Paul Jr. assortment.

Though I can't say I'm a guitar nerd myself, I hadn't seen a 12-string Strat either. On Saturday, I told my friend that I'd seen him playing a Strat on Friday. A couple songs in they brought Paul a guitar that looked like a Strat so I told my friend, hey there's the Strat. Then we got a better look at it, figured out that it really was a Telecaster and I started thinking, hmm maybe I did drink too much last night. So I felt vindicated when they brought out that 12-string Strat. Ran right down and bought myself another beer.
Keeping things on topic, did anyone get a good picture of the 12-string Strat?

Guitar-nerd here:
I believe the 12 string Strat was only marketed in Europe during the 90's. Pretty rare to see one around in the states.
