trouble , you are so right , I bow to your (young?) memory so far greater than mine ..... Final Hurrah was a nice inclusion and what my wife calls "The Monkees song" ........ As Far As I Know , they were definitely included . Good heads up and thanks for reminding me . What a show , obviously you were there ..... please add a feeling you got from the show that I omitted for the others that weren't so lucky ... great show , yes ?? Thanks again . Respectfully .... didn't folk star end with dylan's "only a hobo?" or did he play that separate?
also the new one, when he waved the band off, the one with the months spelled out (N-O-V-E-M-B-E-R, etc)

I did too. Got a little teary eyed there for a moment, but I pulled myself together. Not so many scary drunk former frats as I thought there would be, though I was definitely a minority. The only one seemingly closest to my age group was a kid sitting up front with his dad or something. Also saw a teacher from my old high school. Creepy...

Ehrm, I mean, except for Scooter???
Actually come to think of it, you probably are closer. The kid looked about 8-10 years old. Sorry I was only thinking about the people I saw up front. WHICH IS WHERE I WAS... Yeah, girl in front, about three feet away from Paul for the last half of the show, yeah, that was me. Some ponytailed guard guy tried to kick me back to my seat, but there was no f*cking way I was staying there. Dammit, no, I won't go, you freaking hippie!!! Bring it, I can take you and your patchouli stink!!!!!
Yeah, I'm still a little jazzed.

Creepy... faith, we shoulda switched spots. i was sitting next to the two cutest little emo nerds in the history of the world, adn they couldn't been more than 20. i just wanted put them in my pocket and take them home. of course there wouldn't ahve been much room in my pocket because the lady in front of me, who was totally in her late 50s (if not early 60s) was so into the show, shaking her grandma ass and bouncing her seat, i wanted to take her home in my pocket. it was so rad.

Phenomenal show last night. In some ways it kind of reminded me of Neil Young and Crazy Horse, the way Paul and the band just kept slamming through the rockers. The band is great, Michael B is a rock and Boquist and Bowe sound and look good. Kevin Bowe started the show looking like an accountant with a suit and tie and glasses. By the end of the show, the glasses and suit coat were gone and the tie was barely hanging on. Highlights for me were "AAA" and "As Far As I Know" and the bit of "Only a Hobo" that he slipped into "Jingle".
It was also nice meeting WolfDog, Kathy and seeing Trouble again. The Pantages is a beautiful theater, the sound and sightlines seemed to be great. I had to eat my second ticket and after Paul I went over to the Triple Rock in Minneapolis to catch the Olympic Hopefuls and Mark Mallman. I ran into a friend and her sister there. She was one of the few people that I didn't offer the ticket to as I knew she wasn't a big 'Mats/Westerberg fan, but she said she would've been happy to go and proceeded to give me crap about it the rest of the night.
Finally, I remembered the name of the band that Kevin Bowe was in in the mid-80s: Summer of Love.

I drove 3.5 hours south from "da Range" to Mpls - hoping to meet fellow MWTers before the show at Lee's Liquor Lounge, but I got ridiculously lost, so I gave up and went straight to the theatre (I really wanted to shake Kathy's hand, and to thank her for all she does for us Paul fans...). At the show, though, I did get to meet "Hillbilly Junk" and his friend - both charming young men, indeed! By the way, "Hillbilly," it WAS the back door, and Paul DID come out, and he autographed my tee-shirt! Sigh.............
I've seen the Mats/Paul at least a dozen times now, and Paul's voice NEVER sounded stronger or sweeter than it did last night. Yes, the show was damn near perfect.....

I got a pretty nice shot of Paul on stage with my cell phone. It makes a great wallpaper for your cell. PM me with a cell number if anybody wants it and I'll be happy to send it to you.

I'm a sucker for songs with months in them (I was hoping to hear "33rd of July").
