Here's a scouting report of some potential bars for fellow Westerbergians to meet up at before the shows at the Pantages.
(note: I have only considered bars that are within easy walking distance from the Pantages which is on 7th and Hennepin. I have also tried to avoid any places that are too trendy or expensive.)
1. Rock Bottom Brewery (8th and Hennepin - 1 block away) large restaurant/bar with homemade brew
2. MacKenzies (9th and Hennepin - 2 blocks away) small to medium-sized restaurant/bar
3. Imperial Room (1st Ave and 4th St - 4 blocks away) small to medium-sized restaurant/bar with a retro feel
4. Hard Rock Cafe (1st Ave and 7th St - 1 block away) large restaurant/bar that caters to out of towners
5. O'Donovan's (1st Ave and 7th St - 1 block away) large Irish restaurant/bar
6. Lee's Liquor Lounge (Glenwood Ave and 11th St - 6 blocks away) small to medium-sized bar this is a bit of a hike but is closest to capturing that "dive bar" feel of a C.C. Club or Liquor Lyle's
I will be attending the Friday and Saturday shows, so maybe we could meet at a different place each night. My personal recommendations would be for Rock Bottom, O'Donovans, or the Imperial Room.
Any feedback/suggestions are welcome.

I say either Lee's or O'Donovans.

I haven't posted here much but will be going to the Friday and Saturday shows for sure, Sunday is still up in the air. I hope you all don't mind if I join in on this.
I prefer the dive/neighborhood bar atmosphere myself. MacKenzies, Lee's, Imperial or O'Donovan's all sound good to me.

Don't forget 1st Ave and the 7th St. Entry around the corner...of course there may be a cover there... this picture make me sad...I miss the Brass Rail and Moby Dick's...now a multiplex and other upscale businesses, that's progress for ya.

First Ave (or 7th Street) won't be open before the show unless there's an early evening show booked...which would mean we'd have to pay a cover.

Ooooh, it's gotta be Lee's!
How will we know who "WE" are? Should we wear carnations in our buttonholes? Feathers in our fedoras? How about eye patches - AARRRRGH!
I might not be able to party as extensively as I might wish before Friday's show as I still have extra tickets that I need to find takers for (wish me luck!).

Hi, it'd be great to meet up with some Minneapolitans for the shows as I'm flying from London on the 4th November to go to all 3 shows at the Pantages. Scared witless about doing it but can't hardly wait all the same! I'm staying for 5 days, 4 nights, and gonna visit every single place Replacements related as possible. Im looking at it as a kinda pilgrimage! What can i say, my landlord is just gonna have to slum it for a month and band practice is gonna have to make do without me! But yeah, would be real cool to meet up with people as for a 27yo who aint left the country for 5 years, its pretty daunting!

I'm all for Lee's on Fri nite...
It's on Glenwood at about 11th..I think. On the other side of 394 from the Target Center. I would guess about 4 blocks from the Pantages.
Me and a buddy will be out that night (Mrs. Wolfdog is going Sat nite..it's our Anniversary) and probably will end up at Lee's after the show as well. Trailer Trash is playing that nite at 9:30...solid classic country featuring Randy from the Gear Daddies on pedal steel.
ps - SAT NITE WARNING --> T-Wolves are playing at the Target Center at 7pm...making parking more difficult and expensive.

The Daytons parking lot is always a inexpensive guarentee. As far as bars go... granted its not in walking distance but will sure as set the mood, but goingg to the CC Club seems like a given.

I was thinking it might be easier to arrange this off the boards via eamil and if we have an email list of everyone who is intersted in getting together, it'd be easier to keep people in the loop than having to keep checking here and then we can just post the final details.
Yes/no? if yes, then send me your email address and I'll make up an email list of everyone and send out a note.
