ok, i'm dieing to learn this song, but i just can't find out what he's tuned to. some kinda real low notes that almost sound like a bass. has anyone seen the letterman video and tried to figure it out?
any help that would ever come along would be apprieciated,

hey wilconorth,
I already thanked him. i messaged him and asked him the tuning. he ended up tabing out the entire song for me and anyone else who wanted to learn it!

Thanks but you know tunning the guitar to alternate tunning will easily break the string is there any chords for standard tuning?? |

Fartin around with this tonight, here's what I've come up with in standard tuning:
Intro: A
Verses: D-A 3 times, then Bm-C#m-D, then back to holding the A
Chorus: A-E-D(high E string open)-Bm 3 times, then A-E-D (high E string open), then back to holding the A
