Hey... There's this thing for my high school called "Coffee House" where the kids play tunes. Auditions are on the 14th, so it's coming up pretty quickly here. I wasn't going to do anything, but some of my friends were going to do Party Hard by Andrew WK (they like him because it's pretty funny). Well one of their guitarists bailed out, and I'm probably going to be taking his place. Today I said to one of them, "I think it would be really cool to do a Replacements song for Coffee House". He said "Yeah, lets!" or something to that effect. But we would have to learn the song quickly obviously. I want to do Kiss Me On The Bus, and I came here for help. Long story short, I need to know how to play Kiss Me On The Bus by like tommorow. If not, oh well, but that would be pretty darned cool to play a Replacements tune at my high school . Since it'll be with a band, tips for who plays what would help a lot. I stopped playing guitar for a bit/while so I don't really know a terrible amount of chords. Tabs for chords would be appreciated . If anyone could help, that would be VERY cool.

Ah, thanks. I'll give that a try. What about the solo though?

Ah, thanks. I'll give that a try. What about the solo though? When in doubt, Chuck Berry it dude. The trick is....pull some double-stops in E. All the following are simply basic runs and phrases. Mix and match as needed. e 12----------12-------- b 12----------12 ------- g -----14(b)--------14(b) d ------------------------ a ------------------------ e ------------------------
then mash around in the 12th position e----------------------12--12 b----------------------12--12 g------------------------------ d------------12--14---------- a--12--14-------------------- e------------------------------
Then when it goes to C#m fart around with these notes e--------------9--11 b------9--11-------- g--10--------------- d---------------------- a----------------------- e----------------------
Play along with the record and just find runs and licks that don't sound out of tune. That's about all I can do, never bothered much to learn note-for-note solos. Can't figure em out, and if I do, I can never remember em. Count it off and just feel something.
