Yes, it's finally here! I finally managed to transfer the microcassetes into Mp3s. The ordeal is over! (To see what an ordeal this was for me to do look at the Talent Shows section for my earlier post). Anyway, I'll take the first 4 people that send me a PM. It's a 2cd thing. I'll edit this when I get my first 4 responses... Ok, I got the 4 responses. Thanks to the few people who replied. Honestly, the sound quality isn't bad or anything... ----------------------- Ok, just wanted to thank a few people: First off, everyone should thank my girl Kc for doing this. I couldn't go to London so she taped the show for me. So, she was the one that held that recorder up in the air for the entire show. If it wasn't for her we would have no recording. Thanks Kc! Also, thanks to the people here at the message board who offered to help when I was having all that trouble recording this show into my comp. It was just encouraging to know someone else actually wanted a copy of this. And much thanks to Craig for handing me the software to record from the tapes into Mp3s. Without that link he sent me I would still be slapping my computer around trying to make it work. I cleaned the sound a lot. Filtered it, noise reduction, equalized it, etc. It sounds much better than the original. In quality I would give it an 8 out of 10. And, there was a, umm, tape malfunction during High Time, so there's about 15 seconds missing. Spliced it together so you can't tell that much. I think that's it. So weed and enjoy--it's a great show!

So you went from the original recording to MP3 and then burned onto disc? Why wouldn't you transfer the recording to your computer as .wav files?
I'm not trying to sound like a nitpicker, but generally one should try to avoid a "lossy" step such as MP3 when it comes to live recordings.

I'm not trying to sound like a nitpicker, but generally one should try to avoid a "lossy" step such as MP3 when it comes to live recordings. Well...in my other post I said how much of a problem I've had recording this show--mostly bec I don't have a good computer, or can get one. So, most steps that people can avoid, I can't. So, I had to record the show on my friend's PC, and he doesn't have a burner on his computer. So, the .wav files are huge, and they wouldn't fit on the memory stick that was available to me. Making them into Mp3s made this process easier. And, pretty much the way I could burn the show with my Mac at home. I'm working with limited equipment here. Not saying you were complaining hudson99, but if anyone does feel like doing so, about the sound quality, the editing, or whatever, I would appreciate it if you keep it to a minimum. I did backflips so I could have the show and so I could share it with you all (including asking my girlfriend to record the show, mailing tapes across an ocean, and scrambling for a way to record it, even using other people's computers). I could've just kept the tapes to myself, but I wanted to share it with the people at this board. Sorry, I was just excited about finally being able to post this show, and these are the first posts I get. Just discouraging...

I had no idea there was another one. Wish someone would've told me, or posted it here before so I didn't have to scramble all over the place...

rankel,
thanks for the effort. the real point here is to share the music in the spirit of generosity. otherwise, the whole concept of weeding and re-weeding is defeated. maybe you don't have the best equipment (neither do I) or the means to do this easily. the true value here is that you were willing to share. so don't be discouraged or anything....
