I've not heard this track. Didn't realize Paul had done something for the Melrose Place soundtrack. Is it good? How does this tune compare to Paul's other soundtrack stuff?

Agreed. The best thing about it is the title. I also don't think I've ever heard about Paul playing it live either, which makes me think he ain't crazy about it either.

I'm pretty sure I've heard the song, on a couple of boots from the last tour. I have a boot of the 8-15-2002 show, and he does it on there.

I downloaded a live version from Kathy's site a couple of years ago during the Stereo/Mono tour. I think it's from one of the Guthrie shows, but I could be wrong. (I never wrote it down). The version I have is actually pretty good, if you like those anthemic ballads, but not really something I'd risk being seen buying a Melrose Place soundtrack for.

I've got a bootleg from Brussels, Belgium- '93 where he slips a few verses from A Star is Bored in at the end of First Glimmer, but that's the only time of heard this song live besides during the '02 tour.

if i could reach you haters, i'd smack that smug smile off of your face!
that song is fvckin' beautiful. and the version at the guthrie was wonderful because he injected an element of righteous anger into it that is missing on the studio version.
i LOVE that song.
