I've been out f the loop for thepast 3 years and recently had a Westerberg birthday thanks to my 2 older brother. They gave me 'Stereo', 'Mono' and the new DVD! All I can say is I've listened to his entire catalog unstop since!
There's something about Boring Enormous you all, I can't get it out of my head. I wake up each morning with the melody and lyrics in my head and NEED to hear that song to start the day, which eventually leads to hours of nonstop listening again.
I bought 'Let it Be' on vinyl back in the '80's and have been on the ride ever since.
I'm happy to hear there's a new album and appearance her in Louisville scheduled...Flo

Agreed... "coffee laughs at us every morning"... what a great line! BE is one of Westie's best from Stereo and he sings it live even better. Although the melody sounds like something Cat Stevens or John Denver would have done, it doesn't reduce its greatness!

I like the the line "Here with my aches and cigars" alot after watching the DVD:)
I've been listening to S/M for the past 2 weeks non-stop and all I can say is these two albums are incredible, Stereo is one of his best records ever, yet Mono is the most completely different album I've heard of his!
I don't which one I like better, I really don't care, just getting back into his songwriting again has been very inspirational for me to start writing songs again. I haven't written anything in years and the mats are the reason I started 'thinking' I could write all those years ago:)!
Btw I think "Wonderful Lie" is one of the best Dylan songs ever written!!

BE always reminds me of "They Are All In Love" by the Who (Who By Numbers). Same key and time signiature, almost the same progression during the verses. It's pretty similar. Which is fine cuz I love the Who and that song in particular. My two bits for what it's worth.
